No nightmare has ever freaked me out as much as one I have had a month ago. It may not seem scary, but the words I read will never escape my mind. Like a message or a prediction, this has stricken me over time, but the only way I can get over it, was to write about it. One experience soon changed everything. Nothing has haunted me any more than this. What Happened I was sent home after school on the basis of a flu, which had me coughing and sneezing my brain out, but that didn't matter. Before I went to sleep, I took some NyQuil and went to bed. I woke up from a strange sound, which sounded like boosted, amplified white noise, accompanied by a heartbeat soundtrack. It was coming from my television, which displayed a white, blank screen. I drowsily opened the blinds on my window, but it couldn't be. It was the afternoon, but a very late one at that. It looked like a sunset, but everything around was tinted a devilish red, all darker shades of color transformed into a green hue. It didn't make sense, becaus I went to sleep at 10:00 PM. Eveything seemed unreal, as if nothing looked righ. It didn't feel like a dream, like something more vivid. I then took an action I wouldn't have normally done. I walked over to my Xbox, and turned it on, setting my LCD monitor input to "Game". When the Xbox loaded up, I casually sat on the floor. A pop-up informed me that there was a new system update, which also included an interesting new feature called the "Script" system, which you could download user-made scripts for specific games, or universal, account-based scripts. The most popular script maker was from a gametag named Må†êrïål, the accents being quite normal since you can acsess them normaly. The reviews were mostly posotive, but something was weird. All the reviews that were positive never mentioned the content in any of Må†êrïål's scripts, so I guess I had to try one of the scripts out. I downloaded the script "UNBAN_SCRIPT" from Må†êrïål, when the dashboard turned into something weird. The Xbox dashboard became a dark blue color, like a classic Xbox style, even though I had the Xbox 360. At first I thought the script it ran automaticly after download, but when I read Xbox Live's Q&A, but it said that you have to manually run the script. I went to the "Scripts" section of the dashboard, and selected the "Run" option under UNBAN_SCRIPT. I got a pop up that said the single words "Loading...", until it said "Script complete". I was waiting for something to happen, until a new pop-up overlapped the older one. It was just one sentence of text that said one thing: Some could only wish to die I felt a sudden rush of adreniline after reading this, but then I realize that it's just some stupid hacker messing with me. A weird smell quicky filled the room, as the Xbox abruptedly shut off, smoking. A red haze filled my mind, as a backlit figure walked in from the hallway into my bedroom. Whoever it was, he suddenly exclaimed "Material Wanted This..." before everything went black. I woke up screaming, relaizing that I was on the floor. Whatever this vision was, I'm am still sure, to this day, that it wasn't just a dream...

I was playing Minecraft. I created a new singleplayer world. I was chopping trees until I realized the trees were trimmed, I stepped back and left. While I kept travelling I reached a desert. It was barren and flat, with no cactus in sight. I looked back but instead of the forest which was there before, it was more desert. It was if I randomly teleported to the middle of NOWHERE! I didn't give up and kept walking across the desert, although I knew I couldn't get back, I kept walking. Nothing was ever there, no cactuses were just sitting there. Then I saw a 1x1 hole in the ground. I didn't know what it was, and after a desperate urge I jumped down the hole. I strangely landed without a heart gone. At the bottom of the whole was a sign though, which was strange, because it was singleplayer after all. K33p g0ing! I, as you do, understand leet. So I walked though the tunnels which seemed to go on forever. No torches were on the way, and no creepers were, which was strange because I was on Hard. I finally met a cave, which wasn't like all caves, it was a cave which was pure square, and it was on bedrock level. In the middle of the cave was a sign, another sign. I looked at the sign, Turn @r0und! I turned around in Minecraft, impossibly there was a sign there, just like how the desert just randomly appeared. Turn @r0und in r3al l1fe! Y0U F00L! In real life I looked over my shoulder, all I saw was my bookshelf, TV, etc. Nothing else... Back on Minecraft the sign had changed, N0th1ng th3r3 r1ght? P00r y0u! Turn @r0und fu11y! Sw1zz1e y0ur cha1r @r0und!!! I was scared, and turned my chair right around in real life. Nothing... I was annoyed and looked back on Minecraft, I was back in the forest, and the desert didn't exist. I was then killed by a mysterious player, which was also strange, because, yes, singleplayer. The player had the default skin, but with white eyes. So at the spawn point a sign was there that wasn't there before. I'm c0ming f0r y0u :) - Herobrine
How many sessions should the creepypasta take place over? I think it should only be one, maybe with supplementary material coming from random videos showcasing the milder creepy shit. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline] I just don't think the main story should involve videos, partly because it might kill the scare to show it off too much, and partly because that's going to take way too much fucking work.
We need to figure out a fake group name. Keep in mind that this will be the name of the forum, the "server", a youtube channel, and (being optimistic here) the nickname of the pasta once it's popular. [editline]19th January 2012[/editline] Videos with a big break in between. Something that shows random play sessions, instead of planned weekly episodes.
well then it becomes less a storyline and more a mythology-building exercise. Not saying that that's a bad thing, but then we have to make sure that the backstory is tight, otherwise it becomes a shoddy ARG

I was thinking of doing something similar to Marble Hornets, where he gradually finds the tapes. That way we can have a reason for the players not getting killed by the totem pole thingy when they go and take a break, because it'd just be the one session being uncovered over a period of time. I say we go with LCBAD's idea. I think, if we can work up the atmosphere of the players being chased as they solve puzzles and shit, it'll be a nerve-wracking experience. We just need to keep up the pace and regularly remind the viewer we're being hunted with the occasional freak-out, but keep the appearances of whatever's hunting us low enough that it'll be alarmng when it happens.

GOD DAMN IT HOTMAIL I can never, ever receive confirmation emails. Sorry bros.
I was playing on a somewhat good friend of mine's server. We were trying to build a castle on a floating island, which we had built by hand, but we just couldn't get it done. Eventually, while I was taking inventory, he killed me in a spew of rage. My inventory screen stayed up, and everything was red. However, something very strange happened. My skin changed and I disconnected after the screen flashed about three times. I blamed the storm outside for my loss of connection, and I rejoined in about five minutes or so. When I got back, the whole castle had been completed. Lava spilled, setting the roof on fire, which was exactly how HE wanted it. I stopped and wondered to myself- "How did he build this in five minutes?" I decided to go where I died and I found a huge hole. (When he killed me I got pushed into the ocean.) My whole screen flashed again but this time I could make out a face. In the first flash, it was normal. In the second it was screaming. In the third it had blood oozing out of its eyes and mouth...and I was disconnected again. I couldn't reconnect so I then tried it on single-player. This time around, creatures attacked me. It had the same effect, but somthing more happened afterwards. My computer began downloading something...it was called HBHome.docx. I couldn't control my mouse at all. I couldn't even control my keyboard! So, I just let it download. I let it open itself, and I made myself read it. I couldn't even control myself at this point...it's no longer on my computer but the main parts of what it said talked about being home and happiness and living forever. I began to sweat in my seat. Minecraft opened, again, and my character just constantly jumped off a cliff towards the sun, despite it being on peaceful mode. Everytime he fell, he was left with only half a heart. I realized I could control my keyboard after trying the usual keys, so I pressed f5, and I saw his back. It was covered in blood. He was even leaving a trail of blood...I tried to turn off my laptop and I couldn't. I decided to mute it and I couldn't; even plugging my headphones in didn't work. All I could hear was that noise the character makes when he gets hurt, but with much more emotion behind it. I could actually hear the bones cracking, and the skin tearing...I simply unplugged my computer and went to sleep. I kept on hearing it even upstairs...it just kept getting louder and louder, and it was in my head now... Eventually, I passed out because I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before. I simply decided it was all a dream. I got on Minecraft later that same day. I joined the server, and the castle was gone. So was the hole where I died. I talked with my friend and he told me I needed to stop eating twinkies before bed (his humor amuses me....). So, we finished our castle. I built a small town beneath it, and we all lived happily ever after. But now whenever I ask someone about that time I talked about this weird skin...they don't remember me telling them. I'm writing this from a public computer, so hopefully it won't kill itself...and hopefully someone out there will read this and help me. I can still hear the screaming, and the crunching, and the tearing. I've had to quit my day job because my typing has been horrible recently...I blame the screaming entirely. It just gets so loud around computers. Like it's begging me to start up Minecraft so it can jump off a cliff by the never setting Minecraft sun... If you don't believe me on this, I don't blame you, but I know what I'm hearing. You can try to see the skin too, just kill yourself with the inventory open. It works everywhere.

My day started out normal, me going to school, getting home and playing Minecraft. This was when the Halloween update was still being made. So, I decided to look around on the Internet for a cracked version. I eventually found one, and installed it. I stared Minecraft and made a new world, but something was wrong. When I loaded the world, everything was flat, except for a sign I could see in the distance. I started walking towards it, but the sign kept moving further away, so I turned around and there was a person, with glowing white eyes, just standing there. A little unsettled but nonetheless still wildly curious, I did my best to ignore him and tried to walk away, but I couldn't move. It was as if something invisible was preventing me from going anywhere. The mysterious figure walked towards me, screaming a horrifying scream. I tried to close Minecraft but, supposedly under the influence of the figure, my computer seemed to refuse to respond to my frantic attempts. I was freaking out. He pulled out a sword, but it wasn't a wooden sword, stone sword, iron sword, gold sword or diamond sword - it was black, and messily caked with blood. Then Minecraft crashed. The screaming persisted, and I unplugged my computer, but that wouldn't stop it. That's when I started really freaking out. I turned around. A man was standing behind me. He had eerie white eyes that triggered instinctive terror and fear deep in my gut - they were too white, they were wrong; completely lacking texture, shadow or shape, they burned pure white as if a blank plane entirely devoid of matter. I then remembered what I had read the night before. Before me stood the fabled Herobrine. I was unable to move, paralysed, as he drew the same wretched black sword as I had seen in-game, this one too caked with the foul dried blood of those before me.

My younger brother came home from school on a Friday and went strait to his room. He looked really scared, so I knocked on his door. "Are you ok?" I asked but, he didn't answer. I opened the door, the room was dark, it was deathly cold. I saw my brother standing in the corner, with his head hitting the wall. I ran up to him, I turned him and he kept repeating, "Don't look in the eyes of the Enderman." Then I asked," Who's the Enderman?" He stopped, then he looked at his closet and said nothing. "Stay here, I'm gonna get you a glass of water," I said. When I got the glass of water I heard him scream like he saw a monster. I dropped the glass of water and ran to his room. I kicked the door open and, there was my brother standing in the corner with his head on the wall. As I walked to him I noticed, a pool of blood on the wall. I was nervous that he was hurt, so I turned him around and... His eyes were missing like they were pulled out of his head, his teeth looked like they were ripped out, and his tongue was cut off. I screamed in terror," OH MY GOD!" Then, he turned into bones. "Wha-?" I said as I turned towards the closet. I saw the Enderman, it looked like a Black Skeleton with long arm and legs, it looked 10 feet tall, but it had those purple eyes. It looked at me straight in the eyes...then, the Enderman opened its mouth, ran towards me and ripped my arms off. I screamed in pain. Then, he ripped my legs off, then he started to pull my head off. In unspeakable pain, I felt my neck ripping, my spine disconnecting from my body. All I could hear was the Enderman screaming.
