I think the ideal creepy pasta is one that tells a story without actually writing a story. IE a series of images or videos. Personally, I have a hard time being scared of what is essentially text, its usually text coupled with images/videos that really freaks me the fuck out. And if something was entirely media based, it would avoid the "I WAS FEELING THE MOST HYPER REALISTIC FEAR EVER IMAGINABLE" bullshit that seems to infest everything.

Alright, this is the first thing I've written in quite a while, so mind the potential grammar mishaps.
Genesis I don’t like to admit I’m smarter than most people in at least one sense or another. I’m not the socially awkward genius movies and TV shows portray, I have many friends who treat me the same way they would treat anyone. I was normal, in a sort of abstract way, and I wanted it to stay that way. I only took the project in hopes of some money, I didn’t think I could take it this far. I never told my friends or family about the job, the payment was just too juicy to spoil the surprise before the party. Now, I can’t admit I was a bit pretentious taking a job this big; I’d never really worked for big companies. In fact, all of my software is open source, the point being I never really made any money. Most of my projects ranged from simple to complex programs spanning multiple groups, and I often make video games in my spare time, all of which aided in my push to get the job. I knew I could do it, but the way they strived for perfection pushed me over the edge. I wish I was normal, this wouldn’t have happened if I was a moron like the rest of you, I would have just walked into the sunset of cyclical ignorance. I just always had a knack for programming, it was like a second language to me through my teenage and adult years. I began winning contests quite early, everything just made sense in the code. It was logical, dictative, precise. The programmer was in complete control of the computer, that’s how it always was. I was tasked to create a simulation game that broke that rule. Everyone’s played a game in the ‘SimCity’ genre, create a city and expand, control the economy and politics of your own little world. You could control everything, including disasters such as volcanoes to rain doom upon your citizens. There’s one aspect of these games that has always lacked, the personal AI of the citizens. The official task was to create AI that would adapt to existing and changing conditions, create a society, and expand naturally as humans would. The project was codenamed Genesis, personally not a name I would have chosen, but then again I’m not the one paying to have it made. What a silly name for an evolution simulator, such ignorance, they must be in pure bliss not knowing what is happening around them. And that was it. After they initiated me to their guidelines, I went nuts on the first real project I had in months. This would set me up for life…would have…I forgot about the entire universe around me, and focused on my budding creation. It was my universe, and it would be perfection without chaos, like all computer programs. Day and night without sleep I typed hundreds of thousands of lines within the first week. All is as planned so far, I’ve worked the sociological systems based on the mathematical interpretations of the works of Durkheim, Weber, and other noted sociologists. It all calculated just fine, but the program was still in an early, unplayable state. The company reviewed my progress, gave me task notes, and I was ready to continue. I can’t remember the last time I talked to anyone, I got lost in the paradise I was told to create. I worked up most of the models and textures for the game in the next few weeks, not attempting to be realistic, but I wanted everything to have great detail on both micro and macro scopes. Creating a terrain generator that expands to accommodate the players growing civilization was easy enough, using several algorithms to create a realistic yet changing environment. There was a sun, an atmosphere and clouds, it was beginning to look like a real paradise. It was a place masked in solitude, cloaked in the mystery of exploration, I worked as hard as possible to recreate terrain down to the erosion from bodies of water to the massive caves underneath the surface. I’ve always been a fan of fluid dynamics, and creating a system for water was quite simple thanks to past projects. It wasn’t anything amazing, but I used several visual techniques to mask the imperfections of it, and soon enough I had made my own paradise, I controlled a world. Though full of natural beauty, the world was solemn and lonely, I needed to keep going. I had the sociological parts of the program all figured out, so I made the logical step of working on the Psychology of each specific AI ‘being’ as I had so creatively dubbed them. As I was unsure of the specificities of their appearance, I simple gave them a solid gray skin texture, with eyes and facial features similar but somewhat more exaggerated than a human face. I used stock photos to create a similar body structure to humans, again slightly exaggerated. My system for creating body movement isn’t new, in fact a variation of it was used in GTA:IV, although modified to accommodate gun-running and joyriding of course. My system was simple, the character is given a pose, or posture set as I called them. From that set, any number of factors including physical obstacles and forces can affect how the character walks, and can knock them over with enough power. It was a simple yet efficient system, and it served fine while I developed the mind of these ‘beings’. Three encyclopedias of psychology, several theories and dozens of web pages later I began developing a system matching the mind of a human. They had essential basic instincts such as hunger, thirst, and breathing, amongst a few other primal instincts like walking. The most important factor of my ‘Mind’ system was the way the individual ‘being’ has a creative side of their mind, and through that could adapt to new or existing conditions and evolve with them. They would expand and explore this new paradise that has been made for them. I wrote the ‘Mind’ code over several weeks, narrowing imperfections into a minority along the way. The AI was looking great, and after one more review, I was prepared to initiate the beings into their fresh new paradise. Due to the speed by which these simulations proceeded, I soon lost complete track of time. I began the simulation by placing twenty ‘beings’ in assorted clusters scattered across the land, each group having nearly equal males and females. As years went by in the simulation, the ‘beings’ began using tools to modify and build their world. Although I needed to make a few tweaks in the early stages of the simulation, it soon became apparent that as expected, my coding performed it’s duty. They adapted, began to grow and expand on their own, it was beautiful…it really was…I wish I hadn’t done this, it was so foolish. One last script to add, then I’d be done, no more of this blissful paradise. I called the script ‘Ego’, which gave each individual ‘being’ a personality, with factors such as self-indulgence and power complexes in rare instances. Such a stupid mistake, free will was not meant to be recreated, I hope I die for attempting… Days, weeks, and soon months became a blur. I watched the simulation all day, stopping only for food, water, or an occasional bathroom break. They had built several settlements, and were on the verge of discovering the use of metal alloys. Every time I watched the ‘beings’ interact, it almost seemed as though they were communicating somehow, I’ll keep an eye on that progress as well. A recent development is their transition from hunting and gathering to an Agricultural society, while several tribes still resort to simple animal trapping to feed themselves. After many generations, several ‘beings’ branched out, and began building rural farms and settlements. They’re architecture was quite odd, and was often only built to accommodate the absolute minimum amount of space. Their progress should be enough to put me into shock, but I continued to study and record their progress. Today, (Or tonight maybe?), I will influence the simulation by means of a disaster. I’m not quite sure what kind yet, but something exciting would be nice for a change. A tornado, I created a vortex of spinning debris and dust, and instantly sent it spiraling towards one of the more simplistic tribes. It ripped everything to shreds, their buildings were nowhere to be seen, and the beings themselves were strewn across the nearby land. It seems after the destruction caused by the tornado, many of the beings are praising the sky, maybe me? I’d hate to sound egotistical, but I literally became God. God of my own world full of beings that worshipped me. It was paradise to the full extent of the word’s meaning. I was God, I was what the beings looked to when they couldn’t explain something, I was soon the very soul of their cultures. I believe its new year’s day; I just heard the bell ring across town. Partying was irrelevant, anything but this project was illogical to me, and I focused, no, obsessed on seeing it proceed. A few tribes have grouped up, joining several of their settlements into actual cities. They have had a dialect for a while, I first noticed them using body gestures to communicate, now they’ve slowly worked out a language. It’s quite odd to listen to, but I created a translator script that should allow me to know what they’re saying and writing. The beings adapted and evolved much quicker than humans, and in turn shortly began building coliseums, theaters, granaries, and other advanced buildings. One new addition to the sole outsider tribe is what looks to be an barracks of sorts, they seem to be planning a defense for something, I’m not sure what yet though. The other tribes are prospering, they have developed a system of linked democratic nations, and the citizens live in extreme peace. Several of the beings have specialized skills, a great many of them focusing on making art such as pottery and paintings, most of which are inspired by their ‘deity’, or me. How did I not see it coming…The outsider tribe hadn’t been preparing to defend itself, but rather to escape something. The leader of the tribe gathered his citizens; lead them out of the settlement, and the troops razed it to the ground using a flammable liquid. They knew something terrible was going to happen, but I was ignorant of it. The tribe hurriedly climbed into the spanning chasm of caves below the terrain, using ladders to make the descent possible. Within seconds of this, the sky darkened. The wind increased in velocity and rain soon turned to snow, eventually turning into hail. The wind continued to increase speed, ripping trees from their roots and tearing buildings to shreds. The democratic nations fell within moments, the beings scattering in fear. Studying them up close made the fear only more real, as they screamed and begged to be saved. It was just too late; the land was wiped clean of the beings. The simulation date was around 5,000 years, and due to a rare but possible condition in the weather code, an ice age had begun. I tried to find the outsider tribe that had escaped into the cave, but the maze of it all just made finding them impossible. I looked through the wreckage of their brilliant cities with extreme pride, a majority of the debris paying tribute to the ‘beings’ creator, their god. Me…As the world remained in a state of perpetual cold, I began to study what the beings had done as a society. They were at the equivalent of the human middle ages, and castle towers were built around the land. They were fascinating, yet the more I became amazed by them, the more I felt guilt for letting them die. I can’t believe I couldn’t save them, what kind of God can’t save his people… The first appearance of the outsider tribe occurred today, from the looks of the weather patterns, the ice age will be just about over. While searching a cave a few kilometers from the original area, I caught a glimpse of something in the darkness. The ice age had only lasted five thousand simulation years, but the being’s speedy evolution had allowed them to adapt to the dark cave conditions with utmost efficiency. The appear to use sonic positioning similar to bats, using loud screech noises to move around. These are abominations. These are my creation, and they’ve become monsters. Due to cramped conditions, they have seemingly de-evolved their use of bipedal movement, and now use all four limbs to move. Their skin as become a thin white veil, exposing their bodily systems underneath, and the fluorescent veins that cover them. These monsters do not worship me, they do not praise my miracles or pay tribute to me. They use logic to dictate their lives, and I must destroy them… What year is it out there? I’ve been in this apartment for what feels like eons, is there even a world out there still? Maybe when I made my universe, the real one had disappeared to make room for mine, such idle fantasies. My efforts to destroy the remaining tribe have failed quite effortlessly, and I don’t know what else to do. I was God, God’s do not fail. I WAS A GOD, I CREATED THEM AND THEY DISRESPECT ME WITH THEIR IGNORANCE…I’ve been watching the screen, staring at it intensely waiting for anything good to happen, but the blaspheming tribe is prospering underground, building cities of dwarven-like architecture in the complete absence of light. I’m afraid of what they might invent, imagine, or become. I’m afraid this will most likely be my last entry, I fear I am losi…have lost my sanity. There is no God without Chaos. There is no intervention without interruption. I am no longer the God of my own world, and as such lack a reason to exist. I AM THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA, THE FIRST AND THE LAST, THE BEGINNING AND THE END.
Not really as creepy as I'd wanted, but whatever. What was scary, is the fact that Black & White 2 randomly started when I finished typing the story up.
I know it's too late to make any plot-changing decisions for the creepypasta, but I had my own idea. How about killstate is an experiment set up by a developer who says it's for "testing the actions of other under supernatural conditions" or something but it really just to satisfy his macabre interest in scaring the fuck out of people, but then he starts taking it too far as his broken mind slowly falls apart until he becomes demented. Well I thought it was a good idea.

-oh thank god last one-
I should not write after drinking, that story is a complete mess now that I look at it. I wanted to use the Sim genre as a catalyst for the character's 'god complex', I'd never seen a pasta use those ideas, so I'm quite glad of how it turned out. Does anyone have any ideas for a video game pasta that they'd like me to write? I may not be able to work on it till later in the day, but I'm definitely in the mood to keep writing these.

So whens the good part happen. When do you think you'll get past all the playacting and bullshitting around creating a believable back story? Because if you need an actual map for whatever it is you're planning, I'M YOUR MAN. Or if it takes longer I could at least design one for you.
