Well, my first impression of Rudy was that he was going to suck and he's the best so hopes are firmly in the optimistic camp.
LH s2 e2; a lot better than the first one, made sense instead of weird timeskipping.

I'll vouch for Monkay's recommendation of Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan. It's amongst the short list of manga that I've read that have made me cry. It's only 8 chapters long, but it does a pretty good job with developing its two main characters
I'd say it definitely deserves its reputation as one of the highest rated manga on MAL
