Finished watching Penguindrum. I don't know why it's rated as highly as it is. It constantly beats around the bush with the pretense of being a complex story (side note: I don't think I'm experienced enough to judge its use of symbolism but I find it slightly ham-handed) and its tone is indecisive to a point where it is infuriating to watch episodes back to back. Fuck the ghost penguins. it's okay but comes off a little too ambitious

It's obviously set to show how Haise is and how he gets his rag-tag group together. That is the focus at the moment and the reveals will obviously come at the end of after this introduction arc about Torso.

Katanagatari completed. That was a wild ride. It was refreshing to watch a show where people [sp]actually died for once. None of this pussyfooting around, if someone lost a fight they were fucking dead except in like 3 fights. I saw the ending coming from miles off, but it was a fun ride. I didn't like the 10 minute speel with togame after she got shot but I really liked the 12 swords in a row boss rush at the end.[/sp] So yeah white fox now has my seal of approval. I really want a spinoff with the maniwani ninjas, they were the coolest characters honestly.
