Shit taste and/or people who probably watched the first two or three episodes and dropped it. The two main characters and the plot are far less generic than they initially appear and the plot doesn't get rolling for a few episodes.
Plus the OST is the sleeper OST of the year, I did not expect it to be fantastic.

How to tell if your anime is good:
Take the shittiest mainstream anime you can think of. Look at it's score, compare this score to other shitty, and overrated anime of the same genre. Compare the score of the show you are interested in with these numbers. If there is a clear gap in numbers than your show might actually be good.
Immediately realize you wasted 2+ hours on some casual-ass review site and shoot yourself for bringing shame to your family via actually watching this garbaggio and doing so with a demeanor so atrocious that even your peers in the medium regard you as deplorable.

After watching 200+ animes. I can say that ratings don't mean much. One reason I like FA. I can ask you guys and most of you will tell me if it's worth it or not.

It especially does not help with the female character designs, they look amazingly beautiful but is kind of mismatched with this kind of setting. It's like having super models as mechanics and soldiers, I'm not against having nice looking characters but I feel it lacks some boldness to the character designs. The characters might improve further on but who knows, as the story has so far barely moved.
Another point that makes this too light hearted, is the fact they are in the middle of a war and they are losing but still they find the time to take leave and go to a resort of sorts. It doesn't make much sense, as if the war has halted and it's not pressing for them to join the fighting.
I LMAO at how ridiculous it was when 5 female VAs were orgasming as their characters were having a massage. It makes one wonder at what they were doing in the recording studio lol.[/sp]

Then the tactics and strategies .. i don't get them ... launching flares to draw enemy fire on the units when you have a super mobile unit that can probably close the distance in a mere 20 seconds infiltrate the forest and probably reach those dreadful 203mm railway guns before the enemies can even divert their troops to intervene ..
i mean yeah probably another unit should draw their attention but not the one with the fast unit to take out the guns ~.~[/sp]

i haven't seen any episodes of the show so i just SP tagged everything. it sounds pretty bad to me from just these few comments alone tbh
but then again i know next to nothing about the mecha genre or what makes it so great

there's some bad parts but the actual mech combat is really good and those guys don't understand, they're probably expecting gundam seed or some shit when argevollen's mecha are extremely low tech for the most part.
It's a solid mecha show that sadly does nothing to stand out in the crowd, but hey the cgi in it is actually amazing, they should teach other studios how to render cg mecha this good.
