Pretty much any KyoAni or Shaft show can go there if we're talking pretty.
mmmm yes I just love the blobs that KyoAni calls hands, give me MORE
mmmm yes I just love the blobs that KyoAni calls hands, give me MORE
Nigga appreciate the backgrounds.
Pretty much any KyoAni or Shaft show can go there if we're talking pretty.
Not pretty. Gorgeous or unique. A lot of SHAFT shows have unique artstyles, and SZS even plays with different forms of animation. Kyoani is just good looking animation, but not unique. 5cm has gorgeous scenery that Kyoani is nowhere near presenting.
mmmm yes i just love the blobs that KyoAni calls females, give me MORE
I can get behind this post
Not pretty, gorgeous or unique. A lot of SHAFT shows have unique artstyles, and SZS even plays with different forms of animation.
Can't really think of any but SZS and Madoka.

Like I said, I like the idea, but this is really vague. You might have Ping Pong and Kaiba and probably the Monogatari series there, but then you might have FLCL which is all about the off-beat presentation rather than the art itself since FLCL has a fairly normal art style that just gets animated weirdly and goofily occasionally.Something like Zetsubou Sensei might fit in with both while FLCL and the others are incompatible, but then you have the stuff that's just "this animation and these backgrounds look really nice" which clashes with the other parts. I think you need to define exactly what would go into the section. I'd rather have a "unique presentation and art styles" than a "things that look nice" section.
Can't really think of any but SZS and Madoka.
Pani Poni Dash and Natsu no Arashi. And how can you say Madoka and not Hidamari Sketch? SHAFT is very good at adapting the actual artstyle of the manga rather than genericfiying it, as such they also end up with less normal designs.
Can't really think of any but SZS and Madoka.
tatami galaxy, gankutsuou, iblard jikan, mononoke, tortov roddle, takemitsu zamurai, kaiba
tatami galaxy, gankutsuou, iblard jikan, mononoke, tortov roddle, takemitsu zamurai, kaiba
Thought he was talking about shaft shows.
tatami galaxy, gankutsuou, iblard jikan, mononoke, tortov roddle, takemitsu zamurai, kaiba
It's not shaft you dolt.
im dum
Pani Poni Dash and Natsu no Arashi. And how can you say Madoka and not Hidamari Sketch?
Well I only watched Madoka, Monogatari, SZS, Denpa Onna and Mekakucity actors when it comes to Shaft unless I'm forgetting something, one show I dropped and the other two are on-hold for an indefinite time.
Well I only watched Madoka, Monogatari, SZS, Denpa Onna and Mekakucity actors when it comes to Shaft unless I'm forgetting something, one show I dropped and the other two are on undefined on-hold.
Get your SHAFT on. The only (shaft produced) droppable show is Vampire Bund.
It just struck me that having an "artistic" based category in the OP could be a good thing.
can we also have a QUALITY category i feel like gonzo is at a disadvantage and underrepresented with our current selections
can we also have a QUALITY category i feel like gonzo is at a disadvantage and underrepresented with our current selections
Nah, because QUALITY =/= So bad it's good.
And how can you say Madoka and not Hidamari Sketch?
Now, this might just be my uneducated opinion as a man who makes a policy of not watching Hidamari Sketch, but my examination of some clips and screencaps of Hidamari show that the only unique thing about Hidamari's art style is how it does its SD style differently from other shows. Other than that it looks very typical to me.
Yes yes, this is a discussion for a different time. :^)
Hell no, if you're going to do this establish consistent criteria. I'm going to automatically assume that magical girls fall into this category otherwise.

(hint: Backgrounds)
Hell no, if you're going to do this establish consistent criteria. I'm going to automatically assume that magical girls fall into this category otherwise.
Hell yes. Becuase it won't be relevant to discuss before the next OP. First it has to be even remembered that it was a suggestion to have in the OP to begin with.
It's not very typical at all. (hint: Backgrounds)
Everything done in pastel tones =/= unique. [editline]fuck off[/editline] Well I posted before you posted the video, okay.
Everything done in pastel tones =/= unique.
Wow, are you blind?
Well I posted before you posted the video, okay.
Thank God.
It's not very typical at all. (hint: Backgrounds)
Provide examples that aren't from a dream sequence. Dream sequences are always an excuse to get your art on, they can't be used to represent an entire show.
Hell yes. Becuase it won't be relevant to discuss before the next OP.
Hell no. This is serious business and must be treated as such. The fact that another OP is 8-12 months away is completely irrelevant.
SHAFT is just not very typical, doesn't really matter what show it is.
Finished my vote, will start looking over and tallying up the votes now. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgdYRqGwIvawdExCbXRhUVJDUkZueFdCSWZGWkd3OXc&usp=sharing
dgg you're ducking the request no vote tallying until you convince me that hidamari sketch's art style isn't generic besides the wide
wow dgg you're so late with your vote the deadline was ages ago i dont think your votes will get accepted this late
And I'm still not sure why it's called "20th century" if only things from the nineties are allowed. Even if you plebs refuse to watch anything older than the nineties.
And I'm still not sure why it's called "20th century" if only things from the nineties are allowed. Man, the winter season sure is looking grim. The only things I can see that are worth looking at are Ass. Classroom, Jojo S2, DRRR S2, Aldnoah S2, maybe Koufuku Graffiti and Yatterman and Rolling Girls.
And I'm still not sure why it's called "20th century" if only things from the nineties are allowed. Even if you plebs refuse to watch anything older than the nineties.
Uh, 1900-1999 is allowed. What are you talking about? It's 20th century anime, you can vote for anything made since Astro Boy.
dgg you're ducking the request no vote tallying until you convince me that hidamari sketch's art style isn't generic besides the wide
The video in the post maybe? Was that not proof enough?
