I did and I did, just so I wouldn't have to recommend Black Bullet. I just looked for things on my MAL with the "action" tag, which were actually few and far between.
yeah like kaibutsu-kun might not be that great or popular but I still liked it and would recommend it as a romance, I like the characters, they have good chemistry that most romance anime can't get right.
I would not vote for katanagatari in romance just to fill it.
waiting for dgg to reach taggart's romance votes.
Everything I voted for was something I liked (except for Kanojo ga Flag in WTF, that one was just because it was really what the fuck), whether or not it could have fit better somewhere else in the list (and I did put LH in both Action and Fantasy) is debatable.
if you vote for stuff just because you can then you are ruining everything
this is why I voted for no fantasy anime
well, also because I watched basically none for that specific element and so would never recommend them for it
wtf why are there 250 new posts
Because people were arguing about music or something, I wasn't really paying attention.
wtf why are there 250 new posts
dgg and reds argued about sports anime then dgg and hakita argued about music formats
If you need something to talk about, why not talk about senpai club

Soon as I heard the brown-haired chick I was like "Oh God, they've got a foreign exchange student in it too!" You guys really thought of nearly everything, all you're missing is a character with chuunibyou.

When did people get this idea that you have to watch something for a *classification* to recommend it for it?
If you think the show would be greatly enjoyed by people looking for *classification* then that's why you'd recommend it for *classification*.
I don't watch Mushishi for the fantasy, but the fantasy setting it has is stellar, and I really fucking adore the world it's set up that we explore. I watch it for the adventure, but goddamn, I would recommend it for the fantasy setting alone and I'm sure anyone looking for a fantasy setting would adore it as well.
I've been saying it all the time that you should recommend something on the basis that anyone looking for *classifcation* would enjoy it on the merit of being *classification* alone. I have never said you yourself needed to watch it for that, you just need to evaluate if you think it's good enough for anyone looking for it.
An easy and generic example:
I don't really like shounen, and I watched FMA:B moreso for the action-adventure than the fantasy and shounen tropes. But it certainly delivered a lot on the shounen side of things, and I felt that it did the best it could whilst still being shounen, like, it was as good as shounen could be. So even though I dislike shounen myself and the shounen tropes did a disservice to the show, I can certainly see that someone looking for a good shounen show would have a great fucking time with FMA:B and would vote for it in a shounen category in a heartbeat.
amazing how deciding cartoon recommendations for the first post in a thread for anime discussion always manages to be a marathon through all facets of democracy
dgg you truly are the chosen one
Watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust 9/10

Here's the weather forecast for Yuki Yuna Episode 5: It looks like it'll be rainy with [sp]an 80% chance of death. There's a 15% chance it will only be a life-changing injury, and a 5% chance the writers are just massive teases.[/sp]

Not really, theres a lot of good stuff there. Theres enough LoGH and Ruroni Kenshin alone stuff to keep you occupied for years.

Well, what I meant was the list of eighties series, and that's series, not OVAs and things, that I can name and know are good is much, much smaller than for the nineties. Which isn't saying that there isn't a large amount of good stuff to be had there.
