It's a good timewaster manga. Have you started reading Kamisama no Iutoori II yet? It's not finished but actively updated once every 1-2 weeks or so
did they address the ending of part 1?
There are no other shows you would vote for in those categories now that you have a new open spot?
None that I can think of at the moment that I would actually recommend to anyone else.
attack on titan marvel comics crossover to happen in japan soon i need pictures, pictures of titans
Well, Attack on Titan is already basically just "an army of sword-wielding Spidermen fighting man-eating giants", so all they need to do is have Spiderman find a sword and it will be indistinguishable from the original. And there's already this.
did they address the ending of part 1?
Don't remember. Iutoori II is more like running "alongside" the first. First manga is about those who went to school, and the second is about those who skipped it during the "game day" or w/e.
Finished rewatching Stiens;Gate last night, it was the dub this time around; now for my over-bloated dissertation. Ehhemm, The dub while lacking in VA enthusiasm is rather alright, don't get me wrong the VA's are bad and should feel bad for being so obnoxiously bad, however the dialogue betwix the characters was somewhat improved, Okabe articulates like a mad scientist should, Taru's 2d witticisms are actually funnier in some spots, for instance [sp] "And just like that, a man is drop-kicked back down into the seedy underworld of late-night H-games." [/sp] and Mayuri is still Mayuri, Kurisu's lines suck ass and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Other than that, if you want to watch it again with some better writing then I'd recommend it. Everyone speaks in a sensical manner, even if they sound so droll in spots. Final verdict: 7/10 - This will be brought up at the parent / teacher conference, we both know you could have done better.
Die_Hard recommends Ashita no Nadja for the romance., encouraging paedophilia. He also gets his voting privilege revoked for a month for offensive imagery. Whilst I appreciate your liberal interpretation of the "competetive" genre, and like the idea behind your vote I cannot let it pass. Bakuman surely has a fight between rivals in making the topselling manga, but it is not a competetive show in the sense that any sports or competition is being portrayed. It's a fight amongst acquintances and friends to becoming the best, but in a light hearted and personal way. The kind of competition children have amongst themselves. Of course since you got your voting privilege revoked I will vote for you and replace Bakuman with Chihayafuru. Puvleek You can't vote for second seasons (unless they can be watched without seeing the prequel, like Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu?!). So voting for both Clannad and Clannad After Story in both Romance and Drama is the same as voting for Clannad and Clannad. You will have to replace your After Story votes with something else or withdraw the votes. Outbreak Company is fantasy, not supernatural, you will have to change that vote or withdraw it as well. Psychological Danganronpa Btooom! Initial D Fourth Stage No words. Hakita voted for B Gata H Kei in romance. Ping Pong, drama, out, try again.
sports anime aren't about sport
The only genre you're allowed to do that for is mecha anime.
I watched Ping pong for drama, not for the sport / ping pong. I actually found it off-putting but because of what anime focused on i liked it. Somehow i think dgg has not seen Ping pong either and that's why he wants to put it in sports. Why is there even a category for sports anime? It's not a genre, it's an element in a series. Ping pong = drama anime revolving around ping pong players. [editline]4th November 2014[/editline] Anyway, what have people thought about Shirobako so far? I finally decided to start it, but i'm just wondering if i should watch it alone (i got shit taste so i will probably like it anyway) or if it's good enough to watch with a friend (who has better taste than i do).
I really wanna read Gaia Gear, but no one has ever translated it :( at lest I can enjoy the music from the radio drama
Why is there even a category for sports anime? It's not a genre, it's an element in a series.
There are lots of anime/manga that are completely dedicated to people and how they play a game or a sport or whatever. Hajime no Ippo's arc formula for instance, is Ippo goofs around with his friends for half an episode, then he spends an episode or two training to counter somebody's specific fighting style or technique, then three or four episodes are spent on a step boxing match. I use Ippo not because that's the only sports anime I've watched, it's just the most prominent one in my mind. Contrast to Ping Pong. Like I said before, it's more a direct representation of emotions and personality. The moves being made are irrelevant and only partially shown. How many times in Ping Pong did actual strategy matter more than just having one guy be winning or one time losing? Not many, and the times it did happen (peco vs akuma, in how peco couldn't handle a certain playstyle because of his all-or-nothing for-glory playstyle that reflected his immature personality) it was again character-focused. That's not sports, that's character examination with the guise of sports to display it. The fact that we have "competitive" instead of just sports should be why Ping Pong belongs in drama. Competitive should be based around, you know, competition, which is not the point in Ping Pong. But this won't happen because dgg refuses to admit that his decisions could ever be wrong. And dgg has the easy side in this argument, all he has to do is plant himself on his ass and say "it has sports in its genre list and it's called ping pong so it's sports".
Anyway, what have people thought about Shirobako so far? I watched the first two episodes on my own then put it down for watching it with somebody else, but I wouldn't say either option particularly enhances the show. It's certainly good enough to watch with a friend though.

So I noticed this pattern that I tend to like series I binge watched more than those that I waited for an episode every week. E.g. when I watched SAO first season cringing didn't got the better of me but now I could barely go through the current arc.
I never knew that neo-noir was a genre.
it was added to that box july 2013 and is pending verification because not much beyond listing a few films was ever added to the page

Prisma Illya, Anime or manga? I would like to read the manga after the anime finishes, but not sure if I should watch the anime for the bits already adapted.
I'm calling it now, next time we do an OP vote the Fantasy category is going to be Bahamut, Chaika, and Log Horizon because seasonal.

If a show was borderline sports, it would clearly be competetive, it doesn't work the other way around. You can't have a show that is clearly sports, and then say it doesn't fit in competetive. You are also implying that the sports genre only has one formula and one way of doing it if you are saying that every show has to be formulated like Ippo in order to be a sports show. A genre isn't defined by the formula, it's defined by shared themes, plots and/or tropes. Ping Pong is definitely a sports show, and as HeroicPillow points out, Sports is simply a subgenre of drama (not pretending like I knew this). Ping Pong is in every way a sports-drama, because, for the thousandth time, if you remove the sport in Ping Pong you would be forced to remove the drama as well. The sport is the sole reason the character-drama happens and exists, it doesn't stand on it's own two feet, you can't change the setting or thematics and keep it the same, because if they aren't involved in the sport they would also not have experienced the drama caused by it.
I watched Ping pong for drama, not for the sport / ping pong. I actually found it off-putting but because of what anime focused on i liked it. Ping pong = drama anime revolving around ping pong players.
Somehow you think I haven't watched Ping Pong despite having a MAL account that would tell you otherwise, and having alked about it since before it aired. Sports is definitely a genre, and on top of that our OP genre isn't even as tightly bound as that, it's simply competetive to allow for more than just purely sports genre shows. The character drama as seen in Ping Pong is part of the kind of drama you can expect from a sports show. Again, if you remove the sport you would also remove the character-drama. There is drama in Ping Pong, but it isn't the kind of drama that defines a drama show. A drama show's drama comes from other characters as well, it is the struggle that comes from having to deal with others, and the shit that happens in life.
Anyway, what have people thought about Shirobako so far? I'm considering mixing them together into one classifcation. We should at least find a new name that narrows them down more because of this very understandable confusion.
