Why is poprock trash so much better in languages other than English? Like the Ookami Shoujo OP.
Man the fanservice in Space Battleship Yamato 2199 is so fucking glaring. All the men have regular uniforms, women have skintight figure promoting latexy shit on. And I swear that in a few scenes they ENLARGE their asses if they're in front of the 'camera'.
yea pretty much my thoughts on it too
overall the earlier episodes are very silly,
and then a few of the middle episodes are needlessly fanservicey

it's definitely great, but saying there's nothing wrong with it is a pretty big stretch imo
i'm surprised that gif didn't get deleted yet tho wow

According to my very trustworthy sources Black Jack is an adventure drama, not a thriller.
What do you (or anyone else present) have to say in your defense?
According to my very trustworthy sources Baccano isn't a thriller either, not even a drama. I am in two minds about this, but after all Baccano isn't so much about an overarching story at all, as much as it is about several peoples stories clashing together under a supernatural setting.
What does anyone else have to say to this?
Black Jack felt like a thriller due to the a lot of the episodes dealing with plots that had a lot of elements of the thriller genre, the manga practically started the medical thriller genre. But i'm fine with that vote being taken off, since i'm the only one who voted for it.
As for Baccano Empty_Shadow summed it pretty well
The story has a lot of twists and turns, which to me make a good thriller.
WIXOSS is so cheesey. Episode 3 is a cheesefest.
I do like the build up of Akira and Ulith relationship in S2 though.
You guys are overthinking things.
anime and anime votes are super srs bsns

soon I will craft the western anime industry into a clone of my very own high-tier of shit taste. Nerds all around the US and Canada will be wearing Toradora T-shirts and hanging up Gosick wall scrolls.

I'm strangely ok with this.
There are no other shows you would vote for in those categories now that you have a new open spot?
Sports have drama because pursuing sports is hard and tough, it's a competetive environment that gives a lot of room for self-doubt.
If you removed the Ping Pong sport from Ping Pong the drama would also go away, because the drama comes from the sport itself. The drama is inherint to it being a sports show, a show wouldn't be labeled sports if it didn't follow one or several people pursuing a career in sport and showing the character-drama that comes from taking that life-choice.
Without the sport there would also be no drama. It's not drama from an exterior source, it's not a feud between people or companies, it's not about dealing with tragic events or anything like that. It's about dealing with themselves and the problems they have in relation to the sport.
Ping Pong is a show about ping pong and growing up, all dramatic events are character driven and reflective of their attitude to the sport and what it brings with it.
If you removed the school setting from Clannad it wouldn't stop it from being a drama, it could just as well have happened at a job, or maybe they were a gang or, anything really. The drama comes from life events that are irrelevant to what they are currently doing.
The drama in ping pong could only happen if they were interested in a sport. If you removed their interest in a sport you would also remove the drama that was caused by it.
In Clannad you have to remove the people and their past to remove the drama. In Ping Pong you only have to remove the sport.
If sports anime were about the sport they would just show you a bunch of random people playing the sport and interviews.
a.k.a sports television.
i will subside for now...
did this crazy motherfucker in grisaia actually start [sp]burying someone alive[/sp]?

Quick: Agree for Non Non Biyori or Disagree for Natsume Yuujinchou
Both

I think so too, and it's really good, but it still doesn't prevent me from going 'wat the fuck' when I saw that scene.

Yeah, I was like "Damn, he a cold motherfucker," and I knew what he was doing. [sp]It was obvious he knew she didn't really want to kill herself, but still, him burying her alive like that to make her realize is cold and crazy as fuck. Also, did you notice she pissed herself when she realized she was being buried? [/sp]

[sp]Everybody in that show is completely broken; EVERYBODY. Everyone went through some traumatic fucked up event(s) in their lives that completely broke them, Yuuji included (he has it the worst, honestly).
instead of generic romcom "why wont my oosanajimi notice my feelings?!", Grisia's all "Why do I have to watch all of my friends starve to death" or "why did I have to watch my dad die and then decompose". [/sp]
Thats what makes it so good.

wait, you like Grisaia? I would swear calling it the SAO of vns would be a sign you dislike it.
wait, you like Grisaia? I would swear calling it the SAO of vns would be a sign you dislike it.
I compare it to SAO because of it's undue popularity as a VN. It's not a clannad-tier VN but its still pretty good all things considered. It's got shallow plots with shallow characters are far too much fanservice and h-scenes for its own good, but for what plot and character development it does have, its purty gewd.
Most of the plots are silly beyond comparison, the female characters fall in love with the MC for no reason, most of the problems the characters have can be easily solved [sp]heeeey kuudere, you getting attacked every day when you go to the same spot every fuckin' day? Hey, maybe you shouldn't go to the same fuckin' spot every fuckin' day where you've been getting attacked for the past 2 fuckin' weeks. Hey, maybe stay inside your dorm, you know, the one with 20 FOOT HIGH WALLS.[/sp], and the MC is the biggest gary-sue on the face of planet earth. The VN has its problems but its still relatively competent and is pretty good for what it is.
why would you do that
did you start watching steins;gate from episode 20? or TTGL from ep 14?

That has got to be the most stupid thing ever.
For what possible purpose?
cause usually when i find a new manga i look at the description and if it doesn't sound interesting i wont bother reading it so i just open random pages and chapters and look through for stuff like art style or something that might catch my interest afterall
no

shoulda banned me after my reply
caught up on Kamisama no Iutoori 2
just more of the same shit
That mystery game is killer tho

That and the fact that the MC is a stone cold motherfucker.
Seriously, my favorite MC of the season, he's funny as fuck.
also orkle wow you shoulda changed my thumb into a link instead of completely removing all trace of it ;__;

I'll admit it's pretty dumb, but I find it pretty entertaining for some odd reason. But seriously though, it's not SAO dumb, just throwing that out there :v:
