I'm pretty sure I didn't put Armored Troopers Votoms under WTF Japan, although if you look at it plotwise it's batshit crazy
[editline]4th November 2014[/editline]
nvm it seems to be fixed, at least in my vote under mecha
Who else has seen Zipang btw?

It's basically The Final Countdown - anime version.
I have, was pretty decent and came with a good soundtrack to boot. Those battle scenes were great too.
More people need to watch Mononoke

Don't worry, you didn't. You just put Mezzo Forte.
And as you can see, Mezzo Forte is not on the WTF list, so it's clearly google docs fucking up with the copy pasting as always.
Haha, right now it pasted in "Un-Go", then "Mezzo Forte" then finally "Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon" like I wanted it to. I was copying the same table every time. Whilst I like the real-time update with Google Docs it seems to be quite problematic to work with at times.
What's it like to have a figurine shelf?
What's it like to have a figurine shelf?
fun
fun
i dont mean this in an offensive way, but imo buying figures is kinda strange. I can get wanting like a model kit of a mech or something (I have a ttgl kit that I haven't painted) but having figures just seems a bit weird to me

Competetive - Bakuman
Like with Die_Hard I really like the thought process applied to this nomination, but it falls short on the fact that the "competitive" element is only limited to friendly rivalry amongst friends. It's just childs play, no actual competition is happening. Struggle for survival would be a better way to put it, which boils down to either being in or being out. The scoring ranks are just indicators on how close you are to losing your job, there is nothing to gain from being 1 other than feeling secure and proud.
So you'll have to change that vote for something else or withdraw it.
Baccano in thriller is under voting and currently seems to go in your favour.
ashxu
Initial D is a sports drama, not a thriller.
Unless anyone can argue otherwise you'll have to vote for something else or withdraw the vote.

Can anyone else back up Orkel's vote for Hunter x Hunter (2011) in the Competitive category?
I see it has tournament and survival game attached to it. Would the people that have watched it say that it is a competitive kind of show, rather than one just purely about survival?
Sword Art Online does not seem to be a thriller at all, but an action adventure drama. I also don't quite see how it would be a thriller from what I know about it.
Unless anyone can argue well otherwise I would ask you to change your vote or withdraw it.
Speaking of TTGL, I might be a minority here, but Yoko's actually my favorite character in the show. Yeah, she's more or less a fanservice vessel, but she does definitely have her own character development outside of LOOK AT ALL OF MY SKIN
If HxH is competetive then all other shounen shows are too lol. Sure some of the arcs are kinda competetive but overall not so much.

The dramatic vote speaks for itself.
Nijuu Mensou no Musume however is labeled as a Mystery Drama, not a thriller. Just like with Kidd's Hamatora vote I think those are 2 genres that use falls into being Thriller.
So just give me your two cents on what makes it a thriller. Alternatively of course withdraw the vote (seeing as you only voted for that in thriller I doubt you would want to replace it)
jesus christ dgg just count the damn votes and make the op

Orkel, you may discard the vote or vote for something else in competetive.

it's the same thing with having a wall full of playboy type posters, it's just kinda creepy imo

Ok, here's the thing about Nijuu Mensou no Musume/The Daughter of Twenty Faces that made me put it there.
The plot starts as very much more of an adventure show with some mystery in it, but then of course a twist happens and it shifts genres as the main plot unfolds. I'd say for a few episodes after the twist it'd go into drama, but as the plot and mystery unfolds and stuff is revealed it moves firmly into the thriller genre. I can't say much more without spoilers, if that isn't enough to convince you I'll give you a slightly more in-depth explanation, I'm just trying to avoid spoiling anything.
It's a mystery show, but it moves into mystery thriller after a while.
It's not really like it matters since it's not gonna get into the OP anyway, nobody else has watched it. Extremely underrated show.

It wouldn't be a proper OP vote if it didn't cause a lot of swearing, drama, blood and tears.
It especially wouldn't be a proper OP vote if it was done fast.

[sp]The Daughter of Twenty Faces starts as a classical adventure show with a phantom thief and his gang, with the first bunch of episodes being about their adventures with an underlying mystery of how he keeps searching for and destroying superweapons or the plans for superweapons that for one reason for another never made it to mass production or active use in the war. However, an event happens and the MC is separated from said phantom thief who she treats as an adoptive father, and the plot becomes about her search for him. The plot slows down and is certainly a drama for a few episodes after that as she slowly gains leads and discovers things.
As the plot goes on, things are revealed, other factions come into play who are also looking for the man for various reasons, and it becomes a chase to find him, find out just what his deal is/was and the nature of his past and what he himself is attempting to do, and avert the plans of the other factions with a ton of other twists and turns that put it firmly into the thriller genre.[/sp]
That's the runthrough with spoilers. Not enough to spoil the entire show, but just an outline of how the first couple of arcs play out and how the rest of the show progresses.

Oh, and I was editing my voting chart last night and meant to put in the Haruhi movie in my movie section since I don't have anything else to put there, but forgot to do so. If you could add that to the votes it'd be appreciated.

Sounds more like it really is just a mystery drama to me. "with a ton of other twists and turns that put it firmly into the thriller genre", yes thanks for holding back on the thriller explanation and instead giving me a lot of "and is certainly a drama for a few episodes" :v:
Would you say it was very suspensful? That the tension was high?

Excuse me also for saying that it takes a few episodes but it moves into thriller for the rest of the show after a few episodes that slot neatly into drama.
