It is now official, booked the flights to Japan with my friends today.
Going there July next year, damn that's a long time from now.
Oh, right. That's probably the reason why I never got around to read the manga in the first place.
I guess this is a legit enough reason to read the spoiler, then.
Holy shit, this sucks so much. There's no way I would see that coming. In fact, I'm shocked how little effects all the events seemed to have, particularly when it comes to the further future.
True, but technically [sp]they're reborn again to man the new Mirai, considering they feel "somebody is missing" so it's very likely the mangaka intended a literal rebirth of the crew's souls or that's how I got it anyway[/sp]
There were other people who didn't vote for much, I doubt that's the reason.
It's probably something like dgg had the list of votes on one half of his screen and didn't notice that there was a scroll bar and therefore your entry listed below Zombii.
Soo was is cause i didnt vote for alot that my votes were ignored ?
No, it's because I didn't copy paste the right list into my new google doc list because I'm a piece of shit.
Don't worry Charm6000, your votes are getting in.

Winner finally deserves his nickname for once.
He put both SZS and Nichijou up to 12 votes, getting us back to the shared first place amongst all 3 comedy titles (SZS, Nichijou, Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou).
Or well, he would deserve the nickname for once if he didn't make his vote on the forum rather than in a spreadsheet document.
[editline]5th November 2014[/editline]
Then Zombii decided to not vote for SZS and ruined it because he thought Yuru-Yuri was a spectatcular comedy which nobody else agrees with.

Well..at least it's a Mini-Series.
That is what? Only 500 episodes instead of the 5,000?
Trunk Monkay shits on Clannad and Spice & Wolf, giving Toradora the 11th vote giving it the first spotlight in the romance with the 2nd and 3rd place having 10 votes.
However upon further inspection Clannad has one more vote in drama meaning it wouldn't get the top spot either, so Trunk Monkey effectively only shits on Spice & Wolf in favour of Toradora.

Library Wars is not categorized as a drama on MAL or ANN, given how leniently that label is given out and how it clearly isn't a show that takes a more unique approach to storytelling like Baccano I request that you vote for something else or withdraw the vote.

Why do you guys keep englishfying and shortening show names, but then when it's just "Macross" You go splerging out on it and call it "SDF-1 Macross"?!

i englishified paranoia agent because everyone here knows it by that, and i was using anidb to get my recommendations, which i have default to always show the romaji name by default, which i think mal is currently switching over to, so i probably should've checked before i added it to my list, but i didn't because i typed it by memory, so tough luck!!

I know why people put in english names, and I know why people shorten them. (They really should just copy paste the MAL name however)
My point was that people do that shit, but then suddenly Macross is this heavenly holy land of immortal life, so instead of shortening the name or joking with it, they add in extra stuff to it, making it seem like some sort of sequel, prequel or otherwise rather than just being "Macross", like it is.
It's not even an alternative name for the series, it's the full name of the ship. Like calling Inital-D "Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86)"

I try to say "SDF-1 Macross" when I'm talking about the original show, and I say "Macross" when I'm just talking about the series in general.
And "Super Dimensional Fortress 1 Macross" is an alternate name to the original show, so I figured "SDF-1 Macross" is a easier to type out.
You have two Gatchaman Crowds votes split up in Sci Fi. In the list of shows with 1 vote, Crowds is 4th from the top and 3rd from the (current) bottom.
Also, dammit, there are only 2 votes for Love Lab, but they're split across Comedy and Laid Back.
I can't believe we're actually getting Dangan Ronpa as a recommendation in Psychological.
And that someone voted for Sabagebu in Action.
Interstella 5555 counts as anime, right?

Actually looking at it properly I notice that for some reason MAL has not put in the romanji for Macross' name like they did with every other show. Shame on them.
It even says right there in Japanese "超時空要塞マクロス".
That brings us back to the other point though, just call it Super Dimensional Fortress Macross like it's supposed to be named, you dingnibbetdangarangers!

can i vote for toradora again?
Chaika ep5 subbed.
I have tallyed up all the votes, now I just need to go over all the votes again and assure that every vote is actually present and properly counted up. Google docs does weird things with the clipboard (the storage for copy paste) and cause all sorts of magical shit to happen, it also sometimes desyncs and goes back to a slightly older version of the document (just a few seconds, but enough to remove stuff).
These people have had their votes called out for not belonging to the category and will need to either convince me why ANN and MAL has wrongly tagged it (as in, not actually tagged) as what they recommended it for, or make a new vote, or of course, withdraw it.

Psychological - Gatchaman Crowds
Orkel has made it clear that dicussing Ping Pong and it's classification as a drama is no longer something we can do. The verdict from me is final, it is not a vote fit for drama.
I will give a quick explanation on why this is the cause, and it is not up for debate at this time for previously said reasons.
Ping Pong would have been a valid vote for drama had we not had the Competitive classification, because then it would not have a specific category that it's form of drama could be voted in. Competitive entails character dramas, known as "sports" and shows which heavily or fully focuses on competitive games and/or sports.
Sports is a subgenre of drama because it specifically homes in on character drama that comes from sports. Using sports to reflect a characters psyche, and a characters will, longing or need to improve. As they improve or figure out sport they often improve as people as well. Most sports heavily relies on the sport to showcase improvement in character and will, and enjoyes commenting on what is happening in the sport itself, very much like you have people commenting on the fight moves people are using in shounen battles, like Naruto.
Ping Pong relies more on dealing with the characters, sacrificing the actual competitions in ping pong for more time with the characters, this does not change the nature of the drama, nor does it change how it's dealt with. The sport, Ping Pong, remains at all time the central showcase for improvement, change and understanding for the characters, as they understand Ping Pong more and take it more seriously they also start understanding themselves better. This is absolutely no different than any other sports show, the only difference is that the sport itself, the actual playing of the sport takes a backstep and is only used in the most important of situations, and usually only to properly reflect the change in character.
In every possible way you see it, Ping Pong delivers the same kind of drama any other sport show does, it just deals with more of it, and less showcasing the actual sport itself, under competitive environments, challenging others. There is never any outside sources of drama that comes into play, they don't stop participating in sport or give up on the career because their mom died or anything, nothing gets in the way except themselves and their own attitude towards the sport.
Sports is a subgenre of drama, it specifically deals with a certain form of dramatic story-telling, and it's the kind we see, the only kind we see in fact, in Ping Pong. As such, it's only a Sports show, because it drama does not go outside the expectations and restrictions of a sports show, it only has more of it than many others.

Please do tell me how traveling through different places that reflect different ways of living (adventure, psychological) is a thriller because Kino sometimes get in troublesome situations.
I am interested in hearing how you perceived it as a thriller.

First line bro.
Also this is weird as shit because I searched my document for the name "max" because I was unsure if the vote was just unwritten (maxumyumyumyum) or written wrongly (matrix3724727), and it didn't find just "max". So I manually removed it. :v: And now that I look at it again, your name is right there.

Individual stories followed the path of a thriller in general. It's a series of thrillers imo but I'm not gonna argue with you over it. I've changed the vote.
or did you mean "first line" as in first line of your post
Individual stories followed the path of a thriller in general. It's a series of thrillers imo but I'm not gonna argue with you over it. I've changed the vote.
Not actually? They followed the path of an adventure. Get to new place, get to know their oddity, sometimes get in a shitty situation, deal with it.
It's seldom a mystery and suspensful story where the character is completely left out and has to find out some sort of conspiracy. He just goes out and tries to figure out what's going on in this city with these people, what is their way of life. Sometimes their way of life puts him (or was it her?) in trouble, sometimes a life threatening one.
But Kino is never scared at all, she just deals with things upfront. Oh I have to [sp]fight in an arena and become the victor to survive and get out of here?[/sp] Yeah sure, bring it on, that's just how you guys live, I'll just do what I have to do to get out of this situation. There is no right or wrong presented in Kino no Tabi, just different ways of living, different ways to be. Kino isn't going against any system, person or ideology, she/he just travels and explores.
But sure, Higurashi it is, you conformist.
or did you mean "first line" as in first line of your post
First line of my post.
Scuse me for voting for something that is actually a good thriller.
There was nothing with 1 vote worth pulling up and everything else is trailing by 5 votes so my vote change didn't matter anyhow.
