I personally liked Gurren Lagann as an action anime, but not as much as a mecha.
My main gripe with it is that the fact Gurren Lagann is a massive robotto doesn't particularly matter much, Simon could just get bigger Ultraman-style and nothing would change.
I don't particularly like most mecha designs but I really like Gurren Lagann's mechas.
They're fairly unique looking and they stand out among the others(in the show).
I also really like the design of the mechs in Eva.
I find it odd that we don't see mechs like those as much even though Eva was insanely popular when it came out

If we're talking mech design, Syd Mead's designs in Turn-A Gundam are still some of my favorite.

Just finished Barakamon, I really like how the MC's voice acting was executed. And call me weird - but I think that his mother, despite her age, was the hottest female in the entire anime.

Garage kits are made in small quantities, silicone molds used for resin kits go bad after a few castings, so the manufacturer has to have the price high so the products pays off.

The "garage" in the "garage kit" doesn't stand for where it's supposed to be assembled, it stands for where it's usually manufactured.
Garage kits are almost always made by small independent companies.
Garage kits are the equivalent of fanworks of manga but for figurines.
