even if i didn't know what happened I'd say the progression of michiru's arc was far too fast, it's pacing is atrocious, the first 3 episodes of common route are ok but they really miss most of yuuji's best lines

I haven't read the vn and i think it's pretty bad. It's pretty fucking easy to tell that it's rushed to hell.
After rewatching D.N. Angel it makes me sad that Miyamoto Shunichi didn't sing for any other anime, he's p goode

When you get to the higher tiers of these things, the point turns from physical rewards to personal satisfaction.

I find the eyes themselves to be a decent improvement. Given her style, I like the shift from purely black pupils to the more shaded ones, as well as the more simplistic eyelashes:
