Well, I loved Uzumaki, really enjoyed Hellstar Remina, but Gyo was kinda shitty. It just... ends. And it wasn't as well thought out or creepy as the other two, more just gross.
Uzumaki had the paranoia and creeping tension of the spirals infecting everything and everyone over time [sp]and that final volume was just pure horror[/sp], Hellstar Remina had the inevitability of [sp]Remina eating earth[/sp], which was pretty terrifying, but Gyo just kind of ends after [sp]the doctor's flying machine scoots off to who knows where, and Kaori's corpse on a machine is found burnt.[/sp] There's no closure or anything.
Next up on my pass through Junji Ito's manga's is Tomie, I think.

There's also how entirely unbelievable it is. Uzumaki and Hellstar Remina both have supernatural elements to them, so those work just fine, but Gyo, the robotic devices were made by [sp]the imperial Japanese army during WW2,[/sp] and it's so far from the realm of realism that it destroys suspension of disbelief. I was constantly trying to rationalize things to continue my suspension of disbelief but it just didn't work.

Uzumaki was such a terribad book, i quit halfway in. It didnt quite live up to my expectations.
