Paprika and The Girl Who Leap Time will go away from the OP in favour of Redline (and GitS), man, that's tragic. A cookiefiller movie taking the top spot. I'm glad to see NGE going out of 20th though, even if it is for generic-20th-century-vote-Trigun. Black Lagoon and TTGL being swapped out with Fate/Zero and Katanagatari, no qualms there. Comedy is left untouched, for better or worse. K-ON and GJ-Bu is getting kicked out because season-flavour-Barakamon and Non Non Biyori. Clannad fucking finally getting out of Romance in favour of... Kimi ni Todoke? Eh, alright. Steins;Gate is getting out of Drama (thank god) along with Planetes in favour of Kokoro Connect and Ano Hi Mita Long Name Fuck You, happy with that. Psychological remains untouched, which is fucking awful. Science Fiction also remains untouched, but understandably so. Mecha also finally getting rid of that damn NGE in favour of A Gundam that should never be turned around. Supernatural finally fucking getting that Haruhi shit booted out of there, and goddamnyes Mushishi is in again. WTF finally gets Inferno Cop out (I mean, I get it, but cmon) and in goes Kill la Kill... which is worse.
You're still keeping Paprika as one of the links below right?
It got 4th place.
woo, Kimi ni Todoke. woo! Though it would have been nicer if it were a show that wasn't from an ongoing series.
woo, Kimi ni Todoke. woo! Though it would have been nicer if it were a show that wasn't from an ongoing series.
What? S2 ended in 2011. Who cares about the manga?
It got 4th place.
Yes. So you're putting it in the "Also, check out:" category under Movies.
Yes. So you're putting it in the "Also, check out:" category under Movies.
Obviously? Anything that got more than 1 vote gets that spot.

At least the SnK anime was moderately good and the manga is still promising which will hopefully be adapted faithfully.
jojo part 5: I feel that Giorno is really underdeveloped, like Bruno has had way more development than him. also that Green Day and Oasis fight was sick.
Supernatural finally fucking getting that Haruhi shit booted out of there, and goddamnyes Mushishi is in again.
I'm just gonna pretend I've never read this. Not that I think Haruhi can be really put as the header for any of the categories, if I want straight supernatural I'll watch Baccano, if I want straight SF, I'll watch Steins, if I want straight comedy I'll watch Nichijou, the beauty of Haruhi lies in the amalgamation of genres.

I was never super impressed with haruhi if I'm being honest, I mean I must have liked it a bit I bought 3 of the LN's which are much better imo, but the show was never that amazing to me. I never got the haruhype
Haruhi is a mecha isn't it?
Haruhi is a mecha isn't it?
no but according to mal it's scifi ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i never watched haruhi am i missing out [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] i read like two volumes of the manga though
haruhi is overrated as fuck. It's pacing and storyline is absolutely incoherent. Lets also not forget the time [sp]the lovably quirky female heroin tried to get the hero to rape a girl[/sp]
haruhi is overrated as fuck. It's pacing and storyline is absolutely incoherent. Lets also not forget the time [sp]the lovably quirky female heroin tried to get the hero to rape a girl[/sp]
I don't want to watch this show anymore.
K-ON and GJ-Bu is getting kicked out because season-flavour-Barakamon and Non Non Biyori.
so basically good cute-girls-doing-cute-things anime replaces bad cute-girls-doing-cute-things anime and season flavour replaces season flavour no complaints here
Most of these changes are good. ty everyone :)

Also what the fuck, barakamon for relaxing? God fucking damn it theres much better SoL than barakamon. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] Actually cratch that, maybe three. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline] My heart crushed once again because toradora wasn't booted out of the op.
The fact that the Aussie disagrees with the OP means its a good one. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline]
My heart crushed once again because toradora wasn't booted out of the op.
All the more justification as to why you're a shit poster with shit taste. Make like the Jack and get banned.
Toradora's overrated but there's no denying that it's pretty good and influential in its own right
Toradora's overrated but there's no denying that it's pretty good and influential in its own right
I see it as a failure when they can't make me like the main love interest. I liked the other characters though, pretty well written. [editline]12th November 2014[/editline]
The fact that the Aussie disagrees with the OP means its a good one. Redline doesn't deserve that top spot and although i really liked ghost in the shell, i enjoyed the other too much more. Barakamon is season flavour like dgg said, and non non biyori is actually a new sol classic. I agree dropping gj-bu is the right idea but come on, k-on! is the most entry level sol there is and there's no denying it's a cornerstone of the genre, even if you hate sol. Steins;gate needed to be kicked out since it's already pretty solidly in sci-fi and we don't want to topping every gene again like last time. Planetes is a much better drama than anohana, even though i liked anohana i liked planetes more. Kokoro connect belongs in drama imo but i think anohana>Kokoro but whatever. I think Shinsekai Yori deserved spot in the top three supernatural, personally. Thats about it.
Hi guys, I just finished watching Kill la Kill recently as recommended by a friend, and I quite enjoyed the story overall. This is the first anime I've watched within the last 4 years, and I'm trying to get back into watching some anime again. I have not been following any shows or what's going on in the anime community whatsoever, and thus I have absolutely no idea where to look or start. Can you guys give me some serious suggestions on some shows that came out in recent years that might be similar in terms of plots and settings? A good mixture of action, comedy, and plot twists like kill la kill is ideal. I can care less about girls in skimpy outfits. Thanks.
