Also if you're looking for a translator and you can't manage to get anything on batoto, consider sending a message to that Elemhunter dude (who is a very, very nice person by the way) and see if he's got any leads. Quit exaggerating. The episode is a mediocre/10 for being rushed and all over the place without any firm foundations making a bad amnesia plot into something somewhat confusing for the first three quarters, then they explain what's going on and it falls into a solid whatever.

And hey, guess what, the episode was supposed to be confusing and disorienting until they explained what was going on. The MC had no idea what was going on either. They just wrote a bad episode on top of it.
I hate when a show starts an OP or ED early - quietly in the background - during a really emotional moment before the episode ends.
And by hate I obviously mean love.
I just always get scared when I hear an ED starting up before the credits because of shows that used it really well, like Toradora and AnoHana.

this is the single worst post I have ever seen
To translate: okay, yeah, I may or may not have knee-jerk reactions.
The thing is, there's being confusing on purpose, and then there's "what the fuck am I watching" rushed shit... on purpose.
In the beginning, he meets the commander/[sp]the Dark Knight[/sp] and the Black Knights [I]two separate times[/I]. First he's running through the streets, the alchemist-whose-name-I-forget is saying "what is that boy doing", then the commander shows up with the knights, says "it's not the prince, but at least it's a knight" and tells them to kill him. Then he's sitting in his room in the inn, the knights come to the inn, and he avoids them running through the streets. He eventually fights a few, then we see the commander thinking "maybe the prince is over here" and jump down to fight him alone. So, the only real reason I can think of for them to do that (other than them retconning their own episode within the span of 3 minutes), is that they wanted to give a teaser of "here's what's going to happen!" and then show how they got there. But they never show when that specific point is supposed to be, and they don't even address how he got out of being surrounded by 20 knights and their commander.
It's not like the "here's what's going to happen" thing had a point, either. It wasn't right before a break, it was right [I]after[/I] a break. It then immediately flows into the rest of the stuff. It's like when shows have flashbacks to something someone said 1 minute ago, but even more meaningless.
And then there's the [sp]werewolf dream sequence[/sp], where they don't tell you whether or not [sp]it's a dream sequence[/sp] until near the end of the episode. You're left thinking "wait, did [sp]he turn into a werewolf because of the dark knight? Or because of the ring? Where the hell did that come from? Or is it a dream? If it is, what's the point?[/sp]" until, again, near the end of the episode. And the reason they had such a mess was just for one joke at the end. That's the only reason why I can see them adding that [sp]werewolf[/sp] thing. For a pun.
How can they even have a local legend anyway, they live in the city! How fucking far did Leon get flung when getting saved by the alchemist lady?
Garo isn't a mystery show. It's a show about a guy who gets wolf armor and fights demons to avenge his mother. You're not supposed to be wracking your head over what's happening. It's not Dangan Ronpa or Ace Attorney or Book Girl or God's Notepad or whatever else.
That pun wasn't even set up well at all. Jinrui did it properly with the whole [sp]time paradog[/sp] thing during [sp]those time loop episodes[/sp]. And that's a comedy show. Even then, though, that was the weakest part of the show.
All of this on top of the horrible animation, horrible music placement, horrible everything. And I'm getting really tired of this whole "It's not our place to interfere with humans" thing. Dude, there are [sp]people selling children into slavery[/sp], and you're just going to say "whelp can't do anything unless if one of them is officially a demon".

Did a very poor attempt at putting a few decals on my zaku 2 after watching the newest gbf try and playing msgo, I can say with complete certainly I'm going to never ever try something like this ever again, too damn frustrating especially with smaller decals.

Ok, I'll go over this. It's a combination of [sp]him somehow seeing Pepe's parents to provide context for the viewer later on, on top of doing a cheap 'look he puts on wolf-themed armour thus werewolf haha aren't we clever' thing to demonstrate how Leon basically thinks that his blood is impure. If you hadn't noticed, they only show it once but he has a habit of going berserk in his Makai armour. It's basically a poorly executed "oh no, am i the demons" thing.[/sp]

The answer is shit writing. Garo is based in toku which means he probably fell in a river and floated off to god knows where after his armour performed the other toku staple of falling off conveniently easily as the writer dictates.

What actually happened is dead simple and on paper extremely straightforward. It's mostly confusing because of the "how the fuck did we get here" induced by the previously mentioned shit writing. Think about it for ten seconds and all will become clear, I shouldn't need to break down the plot.

The show doesn't have a very high budget to begin with but boy did this episode get hit with the budget stick. Even the cost-saving CG fight was like ten seconds long.

Well, that's the whole Makai code thing,that's your excuse for why history played out the same and why it isn't dotted with magical shit everywhere. Plus the main Garo series is set in present day, I don't imagine a lot of the lore was planned with a prequel show in mind.
And it's not like he didn't do anything, it's that [sp]Pepe had already kind of killed everybody involved.[/sp] There wasn't anything left to clean up other than the Horror.
Note that I in no way think that the episode is good, it's just blindingly mediocre.

Fuck decals, RGs are going to be a nightmare. I've had a bit more success with insignias and numbers since I started using tweezers though.
I need to start playing MSGO, setting up a VPN is a pain in the ass though.
