Aldnoah has characters with the depth and dimension of a piece of paper and the plot is ridiculous when you think about it and Build Fighters I think is a action/slice of life high school show using the Gundam series to market itself, I watched one episode of it before I said 'fuck this shit.' I think they're bad basically, that just my opinion tho you can watch them if you want.
Aldnoah is a "think it's ok/decent or fucking hate it" show and I only think it's decent, but I don't think you get to judge Build Fighters based entirely on its first episode. It's not a slice of life either, it's a tournament fighter with plenty of comedy on top of the action that ditches the school setting four or five episodes in. When I watched the first episode it wasn't anything particularly special, it was just enough to get me into the second episode. Episode one is the premise. Episode two gives you your first real fight and introduces the rival, and the show just goes up and up from there. If you watched a few more, I'd say episode six is where you properly decide if you're committed or not since one of the three best fights in the series, one regarded by some as one of the best fights in Gundam period, but three is generally enough. Fuck off if you're going to go "i watched one episode out of 26 and i think that means i'm entitled to call the entire show shit". [editline]29th November 2014[/editline]
said nobody with a valuable opinion.
Says the man with the least valuable opinion of all. If we're going to play the "if you disagree with me you're stupid" game go ahead.
Build Fighters I think is a action/slice of life high school show using the Gundam series to market itself, I watched one episode of it before I said 'fuck this shit.'.
No no no, it's the other way around. It's made to market the gunpla. And for what's basically a toy commercial it has great characters, very good 2d mecha animation, an amazing OST and pretty nice battles (if you ignore the build knuckle).
Build fighters is the best commercial I also like that it's 2d mech action I am really tired of CG Mechs
If there's one good thing that Build Fighters being Gundam it's that it uses it to skip most of the setting establishment. It just goes "it's gundam, they move because magic, go" and relies on using various locales and existing mechanics of the universe. It's smooth enough that it doesn't require explanation for somebody who hasn't watched any Gundam, and it turns into reference and cameo heaven for anybody who has. It's also pretty self-aware about the fact that it's a toy anime.

You don't have to respect that bro, I don't mind. So I decided to watch the episode of the first season (I think? is try the second?) and man I've watched about 3 different Gundams in the last month now and I can safely think its not Gundam. It uses the series name as a stage for an action show, its set around building figurines and having them fight in a video game. (? I don't even know if it is, is it a board game more so?) There's no politics, serious storyline with the main character having major moral dilemmas, or it even being set in a universe with actual Gundams. It just feels so removed from the series its completely off putting and jarring. The characters are cliche and the designs feel like they belong in some weeb animu too. Whats so interesting about watching middle school/high school kids play with plastic figurines in video games? It doesn't appeal to me in anyway.
I don't have the slightest problem with you not liking it, I just don't think that you should pass judgement on it if you haven't watched past the first episode. And the first episode is not exactly the most convincing one.
Its my opinion, so yeah I'm entitled to think whatever I want. It's literally a universe where all of the Gundam series are series in-universe and everybody has dream matchups. This is the point, this is the appeal. Don't go into it expecting a straight Gundam series and you won't be disappointed. Judge it for what it is.
The characters are cliche and the designs feel like they belong in some weeb animu too.
The characters and designs are pretty standard shounen. Most Gundam series have designs that belong in some weeb animu so I'm not sure where you're coming from. 00 and Seed pander the shit out of their character design. All of Wing's group shots of the MCs in the promotional artwork is ridiculously homoerotic to appeal to the fujoshi. Every Gundam series has a pretty typical art style of the era and demographic.
Whats so interesting about watching middle school/high school kids play with plastic figurines in video games?
Because the fights are cool and the characters, while not terribly deep, are entertaining. They might just be playing with plastic figures but the fights look identical to how they would in a conventional series. It's a fun show. Shows don't need to have serious settings or high stakes to be entertaining. Particularly when the average fight in the first season looks like this. Looks like I'll be finishing psycho-pass since someone decided to do the Blu-ray of the new edition. Episode 4 was never aired due to some murder and i couldn't be arsed to watch it regular edition
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-11-29/yamada-kun-and-the-seven-witches-manga-gets-tv-anime/.81574 http://www.yamajo-anime.com/ Omg finally. And i doubt the anime can actually bring any improvement to it
Should've bought the Persona 4 design book instead of this but whatever it's still cool V:v:V [t]http://i.imgur.com/S0Q55Qi.jpg?1[/t]
I rewatched Evangelion episodes 17-25 on a total whim Man the original Eva series really is a lot better than the Rebuilds, it'd been forever since I'd seen the original series and I'd forgotten what it was like. I'd also totally forgotten how different the tone and story is overall, there's a ton of scenes that start up using the exact same lines, but then they conclude in completely different ways. Also everything makes complete sense on a second watch through, I think I watched it with my brain turned off the first time around because all the character background and development flew right over my head. I think watching rebuild 2.0 6 times made me forget that literally every character in the original show had some form of genuine mental illness. Like holy shit literally almost the entire plot could've been avoided if GEHRIN/NERV had bothered to hire a few psychologists.
I finished Robotics;notes and there are a few things about it which were kinda cool, but others that were kinda shit as well. I thought it was really cool the way that[sp]MC and the hikikomori hit it off[/sp]and I kinda hoped that he'd[sp]end up with her, rather than the main girl, who, let's face it, is kinda boring[/sp]but instead they did the thing I didn't want them to do. idk, I just think it would have been kinda cool if for once[sp]the MC didn't go for the lead girl, everyone didn't end up loving everyone else, and a dude can actually just be friends with a girl, without them falling for him, or vice verca.[/sp] Then again, maybe I'm giving it to much flak, the[sp]hikikomori bit[/sp]was kinda cute, and it was kinda realistic, everybody's done dumb shit when they were stressed and tired that they regretted the next day, but it was the fact that[sp]it was basically ignored[/sp]that kinda wound me up. ignoring my personal views on how I wish the romance played out, imo the show kinda went a bit pants on head retarded in the last few episodes.
Finished Psycho-Pass S1. Pleased as punch that they [sp]didn't go for the "we're bringing down Sybil maaaaan" ending that I was afraid it was going to go for. Having characters recognise that it's gross as shit, but ultimately necessary for the time being and work to maintain the status quo for long enough for a better solution to be devised was a refreshing change of pace.[/sp] I also watched the last 18 episodes of Steins;Gate in one sitting yesterday after putting it off for 6 or so months. Not really breaking any new ground by saying that it was pretty fuckin' good.
Ah yes, making a ridiculously long aidoru sequence as "plot" in the latest Amagi. We had eight minutes of comedy and some good setup and then blew more than five minutes on generic j-pop. And then the moment that was done they moved onto dance. There's being shameless and then there's this shit. They barely even bother lampshading it. As it turns out the four fairies are lived up to my expectations of being generic statue-selling characters just there for the dance numbers, and I'm impressed it took them nine episodes to have them get this out of the way. Have to tick all of the generic boxes on top of the generic designs and generic voices for most of the cast. God the voices are generic. Latifa's VA had a pathetic attempt at a yell that, while not as good as the C3-Bu one, was more of a wheeze than a yell because her voice acting is basically loud whispering. It was a pleasant surprise that Amagi decided to be a straight comedy in a place inhabited by magical creatures rather than slice of life rollercoaster tycoon. Only like four of the nine episodes have had anything to do with managing a theme park. But boy, what an utterly boring episode. [editline]30th November 2014[/editline] What utterly pointless characters. They've contributed absolutely nothing to the show. We could have had a Jack Randy focus episode and instead we got this waste of time. [editline]30th November 2014[/editline] And I' m still not sure why one of them is literally retarded.

Reading your post you're right it's kind of ignorant of me just to toss it aside and say its shit, everything has its appeal to someone and obviously its popularity means people enjoy watching it and there's usually a reason for that. I see your side now and I respect it, I was hesitant to even get into Gundam before thinking it was retarded being a BattleTech fanboy but I gave it a shot and well, it was a great choice.
I dislike both aspects of those too, I just started watching anime alot a couple of months ago so I didn't know what a shounen was until now, I guess I just dont fit into the demographic of its appeal anyway. The thing I liked about Victory so damn much (and some of the other animes I've watched) was just the convincing character design with them looking like people would in real life, the characters felt and looked realistic how they reacted convincingly in the situations they were presented. I'm willing to give it some lax on the more bizarre things for being an undetermined amount in the future and the whole monarchy's deal, the original for the most part too besides that ridiculous helmet Char wears at first (but you can't not love him as a character, his development over the series is something I really like.) I feel snobby saying this but I've always just preferred a story presented along the lines of Bebop, Vagabond or Berserk and set my standards based around those.

Plus it has great music
Man I really want to watch Turn A but I need to finish off at the very least Zeta first.
So I found the full music video for Shigatsu's OP, Hikaru Nara, and I have to say, it's one of the best songs I've heard in a while. You can really tell they all had a great time making the song and the video, and that gets reflected in the music.
log horizon S2 ep9 [sp]well the difficulty certainly ramped up in the expansion didn't it, get a hard raid boss down to 50% hp, suddenly 2 more appear[/sp]
Finished whole Darker Than Black. It's was good, suprisingly good. Fantastic setting, good characters and enjoyable history. Although second season had single, main story and it was more focused on [sp]loli-with-huge-russian-gun[/sp] I think they both deserve same 8/10 score. OVA too. The whole idea of remunerations and how varied they can be is awesome.
OVA was probably my favourite part of DtB. Great episode.
By "OVA" are we referring to "Episode 26" or Gaiden? Not that it ultimately matters because both are boss as shit
By OVA I ment Gaiden. I passed episode 26, somehow it felt like it's gonna be shit so I deleted it before it could destroy good image of DtB.
26, in my case.
By OVA I ment Gaiden. I passed episode 26, somehow it felt like it's gonna be shit so I deleted it before it could destroy good image of DtB.
Episode 26 is good, go watch it.
