Other than adding an extra month to it. When you only release twelve chapters a year that's kind of something that changes things.
If you include the chapter setting up the beetle fights then that's four chapters taking five months thus nearly half a year, four months can be construed as nearly half a year as well

Start at episode one, the movies are sorta optional they do explain some of the backstory but the episodes do a well enough job conveying plot points and flashbacks on why you should care. First time I watch LoGH, I didn't see any of the movies, but fairly understood like 99% of the reasoning and why I wanted to see more

I think people tend to start in the middle, watch backwards to the beginning, then randomly pick an episode from the remaining until finished.
Or don't watch it and say you did.
