i dislike both mecha and idol/SoL anime so i end up just skimming through a lot of posts usually
i think it's mostly because most conversations on those topics rarely extend beyond "this one is my favorite because that one part with the thing; look at this figure i bought of it"
every once in a while it'll go deeper and i'm fine with those conversations, but it's not the majority of them

Despite one's eternal hatred of Cinderella Girls, as an Idolmaster fan it is my duty to see just how low the anime version can go.
they should make an anime about gundams who ARE idols so the entire thread can get pissed off at the same time.

Before they made an Idolmaster anime, they made Xenoglassia.
It's a mecha show, but it's Idolmaster. Also none of the original VAs reprised their roles for it and it sucks massive dicks.

I can see why it has such a low rating on MAL and stuff though. It's really bland because it tries to be too real - you have a bunch of characters who are basically completely ordinary with completely ordinary character designs doing ordinary idol things. They've all got realistic dark hair colors and very normal personalities and they're even all voiced by fairly unknown highschool VAs; it gets to the point where you might as well just follow AKB48 instead and save the trouble of having to animate everything.
I watched idolmaster recently and it aint so great, what's the big deal? Are the games like super good or something?

I've been tempted to watch this show but having all different VAs and hypershit character designs makes it look completely unenjoyable

yayoi is cool too. (pretty much all the girls are good except miki)
I mean I don't think it was bad, it just didn't really do anything amazing for me. Some of the arcs were pretty cool I guess, but others were really kinda shit. The final arc in particular was just meh.
I quite liked the wedding episode and a couple others, but it really didn't give me a desire to watch more/investigate the vidya

apparently it isn't entirely terrible (the two people who have watched it at all rated it 7) but it's far from anywhere near good and the character designs are garbage
also the story is the stupidest fucking shit, but what the fuck do you expect from a supposedly super serious mecha show that is entirely based around fucking idols
happened to find the last volume of the evangelion manga and the first volume of madoka: rebellion at a convenience cornershop
my manga collection is growing slowly but surely, it'd be a lot bigger if there were any actual stores that sold manga other than mirai nikki though
