Because standing up for someones rights (well okay that's silly on a forum but you get what I mean) is wrong if the person has done something wrong.
The second you do anything wrong you instantly lose all rights to be human and anyone who defends your right to be treated fairly is clearly just as bad as you.

Rahkshi referenced the manga designs after talking about Arise, and compared the versions of Motoko from each -verse (manga, movies, SAC and Arise)
It's definitely not like the manga, but it's alright.
I think it's unfair to call lektro a pedo without evidence, however the fact of the matter remains that he did post that picture, and that's fucked up. That's objective fact, but the decision is either a no tolerance (perma) or simply a severe warning (a month) ban. I know I made a huge post making fun of both arise and the manga's artstyles and then said arise wasn't as good as the other gits.
it's still pretty good though.
Seeing how popular the original Ghost in the Shell movie and SAC was, I'm kind of surprised Arise isn't that popular, it being good or not notwithstanding.

I agree. It broke canon it a lot of areas and a lot of the character designs were a bit off. The stories weren't as good as other GitS iterations, but it was still OK. Animation was pretty solid though and the fights and action scenes were pretty good.
Honestly though, any GitS content is good content in my book. I actually enjoyed their windows 8 surface commercial thing.
I'm going to give the the to minute defence a rest until I get back to my computer, but you're asking me to pick a side with somebody I believe to be innocent or side with the accusers in a type of argument that is heavily biased against the accused and falls heavily into "well prove that you're not also I'm not going to believe you if you say you're not and there's very little you can do to try to prove your innocence anyway" kind of argument.
The cause of ban being over a joke comic rather than any actual admission is still bullshit too. By the evidence presented logically he should have been banned over those.

It always comes back to this.
If the users don't discuss moderation then moderators will never know what the users want.
What the users want and what the moderation should be are two different things, but they are linked. Moderation isn't a democracy, but it's carried out for the good of all the users, not for the sake of the mods or any other reason, so ignoring the discussion of the users is silly unless you want to run one of those deathcamp forums where everyone has to stay in line and do exactly as the mods say.
It's also the most ultimate backpedal to take when you're losing a discussion.
Moderation is never a court of law, but if the mods do something wrong or with potential consequences then the community should discuss it and if necessary the mods should act.
EDIT: And also you ignored my entire fucking point which was that you're labelling anyone who defends (alleged) pedos is just as bad as the pedos.

It broke canon and completely changed some characters, which really irked a lot of people into avoiding it. They completely changed Saito's character in Arise, which really pissed me off. In arise, which really pissed me off because he's by far the best GitS character imo. The "Poker Face" episode of the series is probably the best filler episode out of all anime, ever.

We can call it out for the fact that it is little kids bathing with no censorship of any form which will not be someone many people want to see, but calling it porn is incorrect because it is not an image with any innate, intended, or expected sexuality.
Only some kind of creep would find the image even the slightest bit arousing, especially considering that the scene is not intended to create any such feelings.
