It's really fucking easy to go "now that i think of it these posts sure were creepy" after he gets banned. That's called putting a hindsight bias on your interpretation of it.

because like it or not, all those other subjects aren't as taboo, and for good reason. it's easy to tell that you're most likely not a sociopath or likely to murder someone if you crack a joke about a darwin award, but it's harder to know what someone's intentions are over the internet if they're hinting at (or flat out admitting to) being attracted to minors. even drawn content is only barely legal, and not in every country, so why on earth would fp ever want to be associated with that

Yes he made a bad joke, yes it could be considered tasteless depending on your morals (according to the morals of most people most likely), and yet somehow because the subject is something you people find "gross" it's suddenly absolutely not okay. When someone cracks a bad joke about someone getting murdered and gets showered in positive ratings it's a-okay, but if you dislike the subject that person deserves to be permabanned? What if I find murder "gross", does X person deserve to be banned because my feelings were hurt by his terrible joke?

So is murder. I'm allowed to make jokes about murder. I can make jokes about nearly everything illegal or taboo. Why is making a joke about pedophilia considered wrong? If Maxumym's post was funnier it wouldn't even be brought up. The viewer's sense of "hey not cool" overrides the humour of the joke and thus the person is offended. That or the viewer is immune to sarcasm or humourous intent.
