Easy, it aired recently. Same reason why Chaika and Log Horizon were still airing at the time of the OP's creation. Chaika would still be airing if it wasn't so short. NGNL is fucking awful as a Competitive entry because the games are nonsensical and have little defined structure and there's zero tension because Blank always wins, but it aired recently and was popular so it automatically gets in.
If the OP voting took place now, our Fantasy category would be Chaika, Log Horizon, and Shingeki no Bahamut. That's just how the categories that people don't put much thought into work.

There's nothing wrong with Chaika being in the OP. The ending was rushed, yeah, but it's still a legitimately great fantasy.
Log Horizon is also a good show, but it is kind of an odd fit into the fantasy section. Technically it's fantasy, but it feels odd because the fantasy is based around a video game and video game mechanics. Although it fits better than Jinrui.
So yeah, Log Horizon and NGNL are in because they're seasonal, but I would say Chaika is in because it deserves it.
And just be glad Dog Days isn't in the OP anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I think that Chaika is a really good show, I just think when you stack it up against something, to use what I think is the most prominent example of straight classical high fantasy with strong entry level potential and wide appeal, Berserk, it doesn't compare as an exemplar. Log Horizon is a pretty unique show and it's good to have something in a fantasy setting that isn't straight classical fantasy so I have no problem with it being there at all. There isn't really anything else like Log Horizon that I can think of.
Chaika isn't a bad nomination by any means. I just don't think it's the most appropriate, looking at it from the way I see the OP as a list of exemplars and good entry level shows of a genre. Berserk just feels like the better option to me
The other two examples I like to trumpet a lot, Seirei no Moribito and Juuni Kokuki/The Twelve Kingdoms, are both novel adaptions (novel, not light novel) and as a result are pretty different from the norm too. Moribito doesn't have that much action and only part of the show would fall into adventure, and I felt was a pretty intelligently written show that didn't feel the need to have villains so much as just antagonists or people being stupid for the sake of drama, and Juuni Kokuki has an enormous amount of worldbuilding and while the first arc seems very cliched at first, the series as a whole as a result of being an adaption of a series of novels is a wide variety of stories and characters in different places and situations.
-I do not know shit about Jinrui/Humanity Has Declined, so I'll retract any comment on it I guess-
And that's the downfall of Fantasy in the voting process. You guys watch very little of it compared to the other genres so the majority of what you've watched of the genre is seasonal or comedies.
So yeah, if anybody needs salt, I'm handing it out like I just parted the seas.
Jinrui is not like adventure time. It fits in the weird grey zone between multiple genres. It's almost scifi sometimes. It's certainly not a parody.
I wouldn't call it a comedy, at least not as it's primary genre, would you call haruhi a comedy because funny stuff happens a decent chunk of the time?
When I said that, I did not mean that the show seemed to have a similar thing going on with its portrayal of (some?) of the fantasy races and the overly sugary art style they're drawn in.
But I'll avoid saying anything about the show and retract what I did say since I'm clearly not qualified to say anything about it.

Yeah Jinrui's kind of an amalgamation of genres. It's fantasy, it's post-apocolyptic, it has traces of sci-fi, it has over-the-top humor, it has black humor, it's sometimes flat-out bizzarre, and it acts as a satirical social commentary.
It'd probably fit best under some non-existant Grab Bag category, but I really did enjoy the unique setting of it so I voted for it under Fantasy.

Exact same issue as jinrui, do you see now?
Haruhi actually has a teeny bit more focus than jinrui, it's got a pretty solid supernatural core to it.
Honestly the problem is stuff like Haruhi and Jinrui are so damn good they deserve to be in the OP but they don't fit anywhere that well. No matter where Jinrui ends up someones going to ask why it's under that category because everyone kinda gets something a little different from it. You can put it under WTF japan but it'll never outWTF some of the other shows like panty and stocking.

I'm going to assume you do until proven otherwise because feeding trolls. Note that I'm not planning on responding at all in general, I just want to know if there are circumstances where you aren't banned (just mentioning them or whatever, etc) or if it's a blanket thing.
Anyway, on the topic of anime, anybody else not really feeling it for Fate so far? It's... ok so far. I feel like barely anything has happened and while there's been a couple of cool fights it's just not hitting it off with me so far. The insane hype levels aren't helping with the "what, is this it?" feeling I get whenever I watch it. I feel like I'm watching it on the promise that it'll eventually suddenly become the greatest thing ever.
And Saber continues to be the least impressive Servant. Even if it's not her route she should stop being so boring whenever she fights.

I'm getting massive hype every episode, but that's probably because I've played the VN. Seeing scenes from the VN made into real fights in great quality is amazing.
Also Saber is supposed to be "Strong servant with no tricks" so when she can't defeat enemies with sheer strength she becomes useless as hell.
