Finished Yuki Yuna. I would give it a 9 out of 10.
[sp]It was a bit too predictable that Yuna would come out of her coma at just the right moment.
And the mini-Vertex in the OP made it too obvious that they were going to fight a bunch of Vertex like that. They should have just had them fight some of the first few.
Plus, that whole "you can overcome physical disabilities and comas if you believe in yourself enough!" part was kind of... eh. I'm glad the Shinju gave their body parts back, but the line "It wasn't a miracle or a god, it was your willpower" felt really wrong.[/sp]
Still, it's a worthy successor to Madoka.

Sure, it's [sp]pretty corny that they got their body parts back, the narrative would work better if they stayed disabled or at least partially disabled, and it wouldn't have that unintended message of "disabled people just aren't trying hard enough!",[/sp] but it makes sense if you think about it. [sp]The Shinju is a god, and one of the heroes it chose went crazy and tried to destroy the world because of the whole "unwilling donation of body parts" thing. Last episode of Parasyte was a bit.. disjointed? It feels like the story barely flows at all, characters aren't acting consistently. [sp]Like Kana not believing Shinchi when he told her about the parasites and continuing to act like an ignorant idiot. Hell they didn't even give any weight to this scene at all while it should be pretty big.[/sp]
The writing needs work. Keeps this good show from being a great one right now.

Yuyuyu [sp]Am I the only one who has no problem with a happy ending? Like, sometimes I just want shit to turn out all okay, and it did. I am totally fine with the way that ended. I don't think it was "huge potential thrown away," like someone said, it seemed to me like the Shinju giving them back their bodies after deciding to end the Hero System, and makes sense. It would be a huge asspul if there was no possible way to justify it, but there is a reasonable way to do so.[/sp]
