Dude, it's got a second season. That, and [sp]They showed the fucking preggers test, there's no backing out now short of a miscarriage, which would open a whole other tragic can of worms. I just realized that could be a reference to that stupid-as-fuck meme that was floating around earlier of anime characters holding a positive preggers test.[/sp]
kill la kill or gurren lagann
Legend of Galactic Heroes for a story and "wow, that's so true moments" gurren for dumb fun
even if gurren lagann wasn't one of the choices you should still go with gurren lagann.
Yuyuyu [sp]Am I the only one who has no problem with a happy ending? Like, sometimes I just want shit to turn out all okay, and it did. I am totally fine with the way that ended. I don't think it was "huge potential thrown away," like someone said, it seemed to me like the Shinju giving them back their bodies after deciding to end the Hero System, and makes sense. It would be a huge asspul if there was no possible way to justify it, but there is a reasonable way to do so.[/sp]
[sp]I don't care whether the end was happy or grimderp, but I do that it was boring. Beyond the initial five minutes the episode was a badly paced, hospital-episode melodrama that got resolved through some DBZ tier 'lol, it's spirit power' writing, which as Last or First mentioned sends a hilariously stupid message. The sad thing is it wouldn't even be hard to fix: Put some more effort into the fight scene so it lasts the bulk of the episode (At minimum aiming to outdo episode 11 in spectacle), then wrap things up largely the same but without dragging the audience along for a silly cop-out. Yuuna either becomes a potato or she doesn't. Maybe throw in some more hints as to what Shinju is doing to the hero system to set up a potential sequel. The end. Not exceptional, but better.[/sp]
[sp]and Fuu should've kept the eyepatch.[/sp]

I'm not watching any comedies at the moment so there, I'm watching it.
If I can watch twenty crap episodes of ZZ before it becomes watchable, I can sure as hell sit through twenty ok episodes of something before it becomes amazing.
I don't get how this anime is so good, why isn't all anime this good
They can make a single joke last 15 minutes and it doesn't get old and it's funny the whole way through. The drama is intense and gets you really involved, the fight scenes are (for the most part) really well animated and exciting, the story arcs are all really great. The show is at times action, at times dark, at times really sad and it's also funny the whole time.
They run out of money and do a budget pisstake episode and it's funny, they do a recap episode and it's actually fun to watch even in the middle of a marathon, they reuse a joke constantly and they're still funny. There's episodes where none of the main characters show up the entire time and you still end up caring about whatever is happening, they dedicate entire episodes to set up a single joke and it's worth it in the end. They air episodes that reference events that happened when it was published as a manga that are over a year out of date and manage to keep it relevant and interesting.
Seriously like what??? Do these people like never fuck up somehow? Even when they fuck up it's hilarious
how is this anime even possible
When did you guys watch Gurren Lagann?
I originally watched it in 2008 and didn't even know it had just finished airing a couple of months from the time I watched it :v:
Like there's an episode where they talked about how the pacing was off with the manga and they needed filler so they spent the entire episode literally trying to waste as much time as possible and it was enjoyable to watch how does that work???
They played the OP like 3 times and I still watched it what the fuck is even going on

2011 for me
can you believe I streamed it? I need to rewatch that show so I can actually appreciate the animation this time around.

One of the things about Gintama that I really like is that even with a huge cast of characters, every character gets their time to shine. None of them are cardboard-cutout archetype background characters or anything, all of them are really fleshed out and you end up caring about every single one of them. The jokes and gags they pull off have a lot of weight because you get to know their personalities and where they're coming from. It's got a really human cast and it's just a ton of fun to watch their interactions happen naturally. [sp]Sachan grates on me though I think I'm like halfway through but apart from the very first episode she showed up in she's a bit too much of a pure gag "oh natto/bdsm/gin is my husbando hahueheu" character - kobayashi yuu is like her primary saving grace. Maybe I haven't gotten to more of her character development eps though.[/sp]

I'm sure a lot of people started out by streaming anime
With me being an 11 year-old at the time,it was inevitable

The issue is I was like 17 at the time and I probably should've known better
Eleven though? Damn. It's easy to forget sometimes that late-2000's was actually a pretty long time ago now. When I finished 00 I remember being shocked to find out it it's from 2007. It certainly doesn't look like a 7 year old show.

YuYuYu: [sp]You know what would have been best? Instead of explicitly showing everyone getting better, just have a short scene at the end where Itsuki manages to blurt out a whisper. If we're still going with "Yuki Yuna is a Pumpkin", cut to a quick shot of her moving her eyes a bit. Also add a few flower petals to hint at "Shinju is apologizing". Then maybe cut to a modified ED scene. I do have to admit that they had a really nice juxtaposition shot when they showed the version of that scene with Togo and Yuna switched.
Then, if we have a second season, show them still somewhat disabled, but getting over it.[/sp]
Man, now I'm just thinking about Fractale again. [sp]I'm glad YuYuYu at least went with the "everybody got better!" route with the sudden coma rather than Fractale's route of "Phryne woke up! However, she's dead inside and has been replaced with Nessa, and thus will most likely always act like a mentally traumatized child! Isn't this a happy ending?"[/sp]

It pains me that the episode is soiled slightly by the animal mascot.
You know what show had the best animal mascot? Sora no Woto. It was an owl. it barely made any noises and it didn't show up much. It didn't follow anybody around everywhere and it didn't make shitty attempts at comedy. It wasn't trying so hard to be cute it becomes obnoxious to look at.
And then we have this fucking squirrel. It's trying so hard to be cute it looks fucking stupid, and literally every second it has on screen is constant squeaking. And not even actual squeaking, the "we got an incompetent voice actor to make annoying squeaking noises" type. If that thing doesn't shut the fuck up and stay out of sight it's going to frustrate the shit out of me.
If it looks like a normal squirrel and it shut the fuck up I wouldn't have a problem with it. There is a strong difference between a tagalong animal or a pet and a mascot animal.
