He suffers from two things: the first is RPG Boss Party Member Syndrome, in which any character you have to fight in an RPG that later joins your party takes a massive HP and strength reduction, and usually loses half of their moves and abilities.
The second thing he suffers from is Heroic Powerset Syndrome: in which it is very obvious which powers are built for a single encounter with a villain, and which ones are balanced for continuous use by a hero. Jojo doesn't have it nearly as much in later parts, but in Stardust Crusaders there's a very obvious "stand powers for good guys, stand powers for bad guys" distinction, which is why his powers become far less versatile after he joins the party.
i am genuinely interested in that second one for the sake of my writing

Pretty much any show with superpowers will have a general concept of "good powers, bad powers", or often "powers for protagonists, powers for antagonists".
I suck at giving examples, but you can look at a lot of superpowers and go "they would never give this power to the protagonist", who is usually stuck with the most conventional power such as punches or shooting lightning out of his ass. Which is usually really boring when you get "i can create rips in space and time" "I CAN PUNCH YOU REALLY HARD". Often this applies to either very specific or very broad abilities.
To use Jojo as an example, and to its credit it stopped using this from Part 4 onwards, you wouldn't give the power of the Hanged Man to a hero, or Justice.
I suck at explanations.

Did you finish the episode?
Although it shows its craziness better with the next episode.
And then it gets really crazy a few more episodes later.
A few episodes after that, even more crazy.
And so on.

ending of the series was awful anyways.
Yuyuyu [sp]Am I the only one who has no problem with a happy ending? Like, sometimes I just want shit to turn out all okay, and it did. I am totally fine with the way that ended. I don't think it was "huge potential thrown away," like someone said, it seemed to me like the Shinju giving them back their bodies after deciding to end the Hero System, and makes sense. It would be a huge asspul if there was no possible way to justify it, but there is a reasonable way to do so.[/sp]
[sp]One of the girls mentioned about successors so I don't think the Hero system would be ended, especially because they're still surrounded in a fiery inferno by angry gods who still want theem extinct, that'd be almost suicide to do. Shinju did indeed say the attacks would be ceased indefinitely, but there'd still be no telling when the other gods might send more Vertexes to attack in the future, and they'll probably develop more and more tactics to outbest Shinju and the Heroes. Also, the next few teams might not have good enough aptitude like the current one, so even though they managed to hold off the Vertex for now, it doesn't mean the new generation of heroes will. And for that reason I really think this is actually a downer/bittersweet ending in a way.[/sp]
[sp]basically living in the yuyuyu universe would suck really badly because there is no winning the conflict against the other gods. It's only a continuous struggle of delaying inevitable extinction.[/sp]

I'm not as bothered by the animation now since I'm getting used to it too, but I had a little laugh at this on tvtropes.
