This is what an anime movie with no budget looks like:

Filtered photos, only 3D models (and when not, rotoscoped). Why is it even being produced?
I mean, if it actually had fluid animation and some proper sound design, sure, but it has none of that.
Still, it looks better than ping pong.
Why is it i can't recall any talk here about Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso ?
I finally started watching it after keeping it in plan to watch list for 12 episodes and like so far.
Nothing to really talk about other than Emi is cute and best girl

What, a smooth, clean art style looks at first glance nicer than an intentionally crude and rough style? Shallow/10 go back to art school
I like that thing's art style even if it's zero budget. I like extremely clean art. Ping Pong's art style was the best anyway.

It looks like some crude cartoons from MTV's 90's phase. I mean I get some people like the art style but to me it just looks sloppy, crude, and all out un-pleasent to look at.

What do you mean no talk? I keep mentioning how great its OP is all the time.

yo ping pong looks amazing.

This might suck but I still want to watch.
this is probably me being dumb but I never understood [sp]why the human race came to an end[/sp]
[sp]why was there even a need to evolve? why did they just self-destruct like that after it all failed?[/sp]
[editline]3rd January 2015[/editline]
it's almost like [sp]the survival instinct was erased in the process[/sp] or something
No, I'm pretty confused too dude.
[sp] I think the humans above ground evolved to a point where they became 'perfect' but lost their souls/humanity (which is a pretty awesome contrast of what's happening below) in the process and the desire to live since they have reached such a high point there was nothing else to do. So it seems like when the evolution shift started, people without the dominant genes were forced to live underground in the hopes they would evolve a different way to keep their humanity. There were a few form of evolution being toyed with like the shapes, the docs form of texhnolyze, something about inbreeding, and the weird people Shinji kills in the tube near the end. That's how i interpreted it anyways. I still don't really understand what Ran and Kano were though. [/sp] It's for sure something that needs to be watched twice.
[sp]Also, here's kind of an interesting read about the artstyle: https://guriguriblog.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/texhnolyze-2/ [/sp]
You know, I see reference to Christmas being a "holy night" in anime a lot, but then nothing ever gets mentioned about Christ, which I'm not surprised about, most Japanese aren't Christians, but it makes me wonder why that phrase comes up at all. It's as if the writers heard some of the religious carols in English and that phrase, "holy night" came up, and they realized it's very important for Christmas that it's a holy night, but they don't exactly know or care why, they just know that it being a "holy night" is Christmas-y.
last post 6 hours ago way to fucking kill the thread commie
at least it wasn't 9 hours
Chitanda stop being adorable
Chitanda stop being adorable
Chitanda stop being really boring
[editline]3rd January 2015[/editline]
Chitanda is an achievement in boring. Her face is boring. Her haircut is boring. She's supposed to be bright and energetic but she has less energy than the guy in permanent power saving mode so she ends up just being boringly cheerful.
The only thing Chitanda was good for other than being the device to start the plot of the week was to make Oreki freak out and start hallucinating.
Finished sakurasou today, i liked it but i really wanted a s2. Is there one?
I'm not sure there's enough left in the LNs for a season 2, so it's good that they aren't making one.

An OVA at least would be nice
Pretty excited for new shows next week even if the new season isn't the best.

Thankfully for those of us not watching total shit, the season kicks off with JOJOOOOOOOO
unfortunately, though, I also have to watch Cinderella Girls, which airs 30 minutes before JoJo. fuck.
wow man some young japanese director is pursuing their dream and here you are with all this negativity
it's better to go with a simpler style than to attempt something more complex and fall flat on your face.
Tokyo Ghoul is going to be awesome this season because I've set my expectations to below sea level so I'll enjoy it no matter what :v:
only show I really want this year is more Gintama tbh

oh and Dog Days 3
I'm glad winter is a light season. I got some much catching up to do.
Using winter to start Barakamon since I didn't watch while it was airing.
First episode had me really giggly, and I'm all too familiar with the 'small town' setting complete with old people, distant stores, and annoying kids who want to get friendly.
So I watched DxD dub of first episode and I felt Funimation basically went on the level of Ghost Stories in hilarity.
the episodes with hasegawa in gintama are really depressing
there's one episode where [sp]he befriends a little girl whos dad ran away due to debts and her mum falls ill so she becomes a hobo with hasegawa. He gets a chance to win money in a game show and when he does win, he gives the money to the family to pay off the medical bills and debt[/sp]
i also remember there was another episode where [sp]he starts living with a divorced wife with her son, hasegawa starts to get his act together and in his first job interview, he meets the husband of the family and he sabotages his own interview to give the husband a chance[/sp]
don't really contribute to some sort of plot but the stories were sad

maybe it was an actual purposeful decision? remember the uproar about that rotoscoped show a while back? As they say, there's no such thing as bad publicity

I'd rather have this than a conflicting style between the drawn portion and 3D.
Parasyte suffers from this.
not really anime but i've been exploring japanese music more recently and was listening to an album by one of the artists i found and came across this:

I was doing something else when I was listening to this and I didn't even notice the english lyrics until about halfway through (you can just start it from the beginning if you're interested) :v:
This kind of stands out from the rest of the album too, and they've made a cover of a Stevie Wonder song before so I don't know what to make of what is intentional and what is coincidence.
getting back into gundam a bit
rewatched MS08 and it wasn't quite as good as I remember it
[sp]the romance really was fucking shoehorned in like what the fuck man I don't remember it being so sudden[/sp]
animation was good shit though
started 0080 and it struck me how old it is. Also how few old anime I've watched. MSG, Zeta and this are the three oldest anime I've seen, 0080 being made in 1989, and the art style shift is already starting to bother me.
[editline]3rd January 2015[/editline]
0080
[sp]"はい、はい、はい、はい、はい" while shooting down all the allied buildings in the video game
is this how school shootings happen
literally proof of violent video games causing violent behavior???[/sp]
Finished sakurasou today, i liked it but i really wanted a s2. Is there one?
Yeah it's called Bokura Kawaisou. Except it's not a sequel and more of a spiritual successor.
