You're the only one who rated it anything lower than a 7.
Dongaroid, Crambone, Tiruh and Zesibesh.
You're not Die_Hard.
tbh I'm just in title only Reds and Joe are the true mechafags ヽ(´ー`)ノ
Dongaroid, Crambone, Tiruh and Zesibesh.
4 people, it is concluded nge is trash and you shouldnt watch it
6 is still a good score, if 30+ people I know rated a show 6-10 I would watch it for sure
6 is still a good score, if 30+ people I know rated a show 6-10 I would watch it for sure
If everyone rated it a 6 it would be a show that should clearly be avoided.
Dongaroid, Crambone, Tiruh and Zesibesh.
Of the 58 people I have with NGE in their lists, you, Dronaroid, Crambone and Zezibesh are the only ones to have rated it lower than 7. If we take away those who are plan-to-watch, that's like 4/45
YES THAT'S IT!
Glad I could help. creec on the other hand, I checked the MAL mecha movies and couldn't find shit that matched that description. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.
I don't think those ratings change the fact that a lot of different people, in this thread, have absolute shitted on NGE over the years. I am surprised at all those 8's though, but it fits in line with my opinion that it is severely overrated.
y does arararararagi look like a faget in hanamonogatari also with the nge talk, while it was entertaining for me, i honestly wouldn't recommend it tbh or at least there would be shows i would recommend over it
I find it hard to understand how people can consider NGE bad it had a few rough episodes, and I can understand not liking it because you dislike the characters or disagree with the message given, but show as a whole (EoE included) + overarching themes and message were all at the very minimum above average in quality. also every time I miss out on this thread for more than 100 posts I tend to skip all of them sooo that's probably why I never noticed
I don't think those ratings change the fact that a lot of different people, in this thread, have absolute shitted on NGE over the years.
Well yeah, because it's far from perfect. You CAN enjoy it and still shit on it for being fucking dumb. I know I do (though my rating is also hella old and would probably be a 7 if I rewatched it - I'm not changing it unless I rewatch it though).
oh yeah and ZnT S1 is a pretty decent show so far, I don't get how they absolutely fucked up the 3rd/4th seasons so badly. It's a shame the anime fucked up so bad since the author died and now the LNs will never get finished - there's no closure or definitive edition of the franchise, just a whole bunch of wasted potential.
They should ignore the original series and the third movie though.
The second rebuild is much better if you watch the original series, though. And why is 6 a "AVOID THIS SHOW"? Wouldn't that be like a 3? or are we working with game journalism rating scales
didn't like how the story amounted to nothing in the end and how EoE was just a test to see how many psychedelic scenes they could fit into 2 hours. also the false depth of "we did it because it looks cool" also shinjis a bitch
I don't want to watch EoE because in the regular Evangelion ending, he works out his issues. In EoE, he masturbates to Asuka's comatose body which I cannot see Shinji doing other than Anno going "GUYS THIS IS YOU I DON'T LIKE YOU GUYS VERY MUCH STOP MASTURBATING TO 14 YEAR OLD GIRLS". [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] "NOW BUY FIFTY MORE STATUES AND ASSORTED MERCH, UNCLE ANNO NEEDS TO BUY ANOTHER ISLAND"
And why is 6 a "AVOID THIS SHOW"? Wouldn't that be like a 3? or are we working with game journalism rating scales
you would be correct if we were forced to watch an anime regardless of if it interested us. Anyone would have multiple other anime that are rated higher, recommending the 6/10 would be dumb unless they have seen every other show you've rated higher than 6.

You want Shinji to suddenly stop being a wimp, negating the whole story of overcoming depression and gaining self-worth? Fuck you, [sp]the world ends, everyone dies, and Shinji becomes an outright asshole who masturbates to completion over Asuka's comatose body[/sp]".

A 7 should only be watched if you want to watch a show like that and are ok with it being nothing more than a timewaster, a show that's enjoyable but leaves you with nothing going out of it. A 8 and up are all recommendable shows that gives you that little extra something and are highly enjoyable.

That's ridiculous.
thats my mal ratings in a nutshell
Honestly for recommending shows a five point scale that abandons trying to give it a score would be best. Amazing, really good and recommended to everyone, good with enjoyment varying by the viewer which is the "generally agreed to be pretty good but your enjoyment may vary from 'this isn't that good' to 'this is really good'" option, okay but not really worth recommending unless you're really into the premise or material, and don't watch. That'd be my solution. We remove the fact that nobody can agree on what's the "objective" rating scale and go for an opinion-based one. [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] It makes more sense than "everything below eight is trash".
Those 4 shows you rated 6 and 5 must've been pretty terrible.
just average to be honest,

I use what mal calls the ratings to pick what I rate things, if I think a show is good but not great it's a 7, anything above 6 is an easy reccomend, 5 and 6 is "watch this if you really like this genre" and 4 and below is varying degrees of trash you probably shouldn't watch.
What is this rating site?
I know nobody wants to get into a ratings argument, but your game reviewer rating scale is awful. 7 is average at best? That's ridiculous.
It's not ridiculous at all, you have 3 increments of even higher enjoyment over a 7. Do you see those feelings behind those numbers? (average) (fine) (good) (very good) (great) (masterpiece)? They perfectly represent my way of rating shows. When I want to entertain myself I don't want to entertain myself with something that is literally exactly like everything else (5, everything about anything is completely dead average, bland, boring, uninspired). 7 is the rating most shows ends up in, because most shows are made by competent people that know how to write, animate, create sound, voice act, etc etc. But they still safe their shows (or the source material is safed) to fit a broad audience, taking little to no risks, but delivering good jokes/action/drama/whatever here and there, making it a show you enjoyed watching, but also not very memorable because nothing about it was anything special, it just did what it did well. A 7 is for anything that was good enough for you to not regret watching, giving you some good moments often enough to keep the show interesting, but never really breaking any new boundaries or delivering anything excellent. This is why it ends up being the average rating, representing the average shows (because most shows are good, and good isn't good enough, the bar goes much higher than just good).
Honestly for recommending shows a five point scale that abandons trying to give it a score would be best. [editline]5th January 2015[/editline] It makes more sense than "everything below eight is trash".
The 5 star system is completely trash and lacks any form of nuance, I detest it so much. The 10 scale system is the minimum requirement for getting anything out of the ratings. With the 5 star system I'm forced to rate 10/10 and 9/10 shows together as 5 stars, which completely and wholly misrepresents what I feel about the shows. I would have used Anilists 100 scale point system if I didn't have to adjust every damn thing I've watched to it (which is impossible since the ratings would be in retrospect). Also where the fuck do you get the idea that "everything below eight is trash"? That's not what we're saying at all. Everything below eight isn't recommendable, it's shows you can watch and enjoy, but you won't enjoy them far as much as you could have enjoyed watching something else. There are literally thousands of fucking shows out there, why would you want to waste your time on deciding to watch anything that doesn't give you a lot of enjoyment? Why would you want to watch something that is merely "good" instead of something that is "very good", "great" or "excellent"? a 7/10 is a hollywood cookiecutter movie, they are all enjoyable, following all the guidelines on how to make a good movie, giving you just the amount of enjoyment you need to enjoy watching it, and then when you're done it's like "it was good" and then you forget entirely about the movie's existence because you've basically seen it done 5423 times before.
I can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than a good ol' RATINGS ARGUMENT, can we argue about best girl in x show next? Or maybe vlc vs mpc?

Joke's on you dgg, it's 2am and I intend to sleep tonight, and I everybody will hate me if I humour you and dignify you with a response. Geez, it sucks having to wait until the end of the week for all of the new stuff to air. At least Jojo airs relatively early.
