Code Geass spawned out of the ether, it has no production studio it simply showed up on sunrise's front door fully finished one day, which explains why it's entirely an amalgam of other shows mixed into one crazy awesome mess.
Or you know, both those shows have designs by CLAMP, one of those two.

HS had shit awful video quality for season one. I'd go with Commie for that alone. Their typesetting is far better and the subs are almost identical anyway.
S2 might as well go HS though. Commie didn't even bother to finish it.
