dgg, I think you're nitpicking too much with that specific episode of jojo but I do agree with you, the SC stand fights suck for the most part, sc is the worst part (still really good though the style and craziness offset the weak writing for me.)

That episode is just one of many. This is a common re-occurence throughout all of Stardust Crusader so far.

I know, which is fucking stupid. He had the perfect formula down in the second arc already, and then he just went stupid bullshit shounen in the third arc.
I also find this whole "don't criticize jojo for doing things poorly" to be on TTGL levels, where if anyone criticizes the damn thing it's all like "you can't do that" "how can you dislike this thing that I like" "but disliking that part is dumb, that's not important because reasons".
JoJo is just as guilty of doing things poorly as anything else, it's in many ways the father of all the terrible shounen out there. But since those shounen shows doesn't feature a full male cast of ripped dudes striking funny poses they are ok to criticize for shit stories.

ugh, I really wish jnMBS would either stop using shitty fonts and colors or just just stop subbing altogether, their anohana ova subs were awful and hurt my eyes and their koufuku graffiti subs aren't any better at all, even the op karoke is awful

Death Parade was great, but I'm really not a fan of how they left the ending so vague and then in the post-ED scene they immediately answered it.
And the show's OP is ridiculously great. I want at least one episode where they throw out the regular atmosphere and have the show be as fun as the OP.
I just realized after talking to a buddy of mine that assassination Classroom had an EP0, after we realized we both watched different episodes.
It didn't take long, it works just as well as I imagined.

I don't watch JoJo but that sounds pretty reasonable actually
it should be pretty obvious that a solid medium such as the ground/sand is a superior conductor of sound than air (Edit: I looked this up to confirm and this seems to be variable depending on type of dirt/soil/sand/ground medium, it's possible air may conduct sound better than the ground in certain conditions), and also that lower frequency sounds travel longer distances through mediums of varying density/elasticity because they are less readily attenuated/reflected etc whatever

That is to say soundwaves travelling through the air and strike dirt would likely transmit only the lowest frequencies of the sound, perhaps filtering out sound in the vocal frequency range.
Sounds caused by direct impact with the ground would be less affected because they wouldn't have to cross over from air to ground/sand/dirt etc
