Just watched Death Parade and Assassination Classroom pilot episodes, both were pretty good. Death Parade reminds me of Saw.

no im not in japan atm
ya garlique is at my house we play videogames all day
Woah, Deen Horizon grew a budget, this episode looked mostly non-Deen and had some pretty decent animation too. Other than a certain monk's wildly fluctuating chest size, which couldn't decide if it was large by normal standards or larger than her head.
Also Leonardo was great. And we got some neat new stuff about the world.
Also hi Kakyoin.

I'll pay good money for an episode of Death Parade edited to have Kaiji's narrator, sound effects, and OST. Zawa Parade.

Yes
[editline]10th January 2015[/editline]
Although most people who hyped it and enjoyed it the most probably watched death billiards.
started Kara no Kyoukai
time to turn into a full-fledged type-mooner

finished brave story, was rather fun [sp]though that girl turning into the giant creepy frog thing, the smile 'she' had before she changed was the creepiest bit of that scene[/sp]
also not every day you get bonus fold outs in light novels
I don't watch JoJo but that sounds pretty reasonable actually
it should be pretty obvious that a solid medium such as the ground/sand is a superior conductor of sound than air (Edit: I looked this up to confirm and this seems to be variable depending on type of dirt/soil/sand/ground medium, it's possible air may conduct sound better than the ground in certain conditions), and also that lower frequency sounds travel longer distances through mediums of varying density/elasticity because they are less readily attenuated/reflected etc whatever

That is to say soundwaves travelling through the air and strike dirt would likely transmit only the lowest frequencies of the sound, perhaps filtering out sound in the vocal frequency range.
Sounds caused by direct impact with the ground would be less affected because they wouldn't have to cross over from air to ground/sand/dirt etc
I completely agree that the voice will cause less vibrations than physically touching the sand because less bass and more discant, that's fine.
But
1) He can precisely indicate every soundwave made from 4km away with spot-on precision, indicating he hears the soundwaves with pristine clarity, meaning higher frequency soundwaves should be just as easily caught (at worst without pin-point accuracy), as his ability to hear sounds accurately reaches far further than 4km.
2) He heard the dog snore, snoring is no different from talking, more bass, easier penetration, sure, but it's still just vocal sounds that causes vibrations from sound and body movements.
3) they were lying directly on the ground and shouting, meaning not only would they actually be moving and causing vibrations in the sand by default because no human can stand still, but on top of that shouting requires even more body movement and is louder, causing much more vibrations in the sand, especially since they are so much closer to the sand as well.
And this is without trying to question how he can hear the vibrations in the sand with pristine clarity from 4km away but aren't able to hear normal sound from 4km away at all.
