no the problem with log horizon is the fact that there is no exploration of any depth into any charcter's past, motives, or ideals and as a result i find it difficult to empathize or care about anyone in the show
We just got two episodes of literally nothing but two characters telling/showing their past, motives, and ideals.
For other characters it's a bit bare but I think it's enough to know what to go on. For simply pasts a lot of it is just as simple as "we were normal nerds with boring lives".

I suppose if you halt your advance at any sign of resistance then sure maybe you shouldn't even be on an online forum to begin with. Reds, however, is being actually ignorant and even states this fact in his post by saying that he is going to ignore what HE thinks is wrong, and he is attempting to exploit what he believes is the weakest part of your post.

I just wanted to make a joke about there not being anything about iron in Log Horizon, man. You're looking too deep.
My opinion on his opinion is that he's looking for something that isn't what the show is about and thus doesn't enjoy it. I think he's judging the show on what it isn't rather than for what it is. At the end of the day though it just boils down to him not liking the show and what it's doing and there's nothing wrong with that. Most of my objections come down to the way he phrased it and the fact that he accused it of "pretending to be smart", whatever the hell that means, just because it's orienting itself around politics and society/economy building rather than taking a more conventional action-oriented "this is the problem, go punch it" approach.

If somebody calls the thing I like shit I'm going to disagree, doesn't mean I think he's not allowed to think it's shit.

That makes sense. I was assuming you said you would ignore the wrong parts in an opinion based way rather than a factual one, but if it factually wrong then I take back what I am saying about you being ignorant.

"just got"
i'm not watching season 2 but if it took 25 + whatever ep its on now to develop the characters then they're doing something wrong
as ridiculously deus ex machina and trope riddled kirito from SAO is, the fact that more effort is made to explore his real life subconsciously makes me care more about what happens to him
for example
i see shiro like i see the people in this thread. i dont know you people other than your online persona
this means i dont care about you all as much as i do my friends irl, because i know them better

the more i learned about kirito's real life the less i liked him
not that i liked him to begin with but whatever
idk i think it'd be pretty stupid if every character had a tragic backstory because that'd just be shitty fanfic writing (cough cough)
the point of mmos is that you can meet and bond with strangers through your adventures together and not because you read their autobiography
[editline]10th January 2015[/editline]
anyways here's a rad video on the meissner effect discussed in the new aldnoah because physics gives me a boner and i have no girlfriend

since when does a character have to have a tragic backstory to have depth
since when does a character have to have a tragic backstory to have depth
i liked most of the characters even in s1 so idk
i think durarara is a show that needs typesetting as CR did a poor job of it (obviously)
a few scenes where it was a bit confusing to watch due to how they switched the character and tv subs and also how poorly they subbed signs if at all
I pretty much said I was waiting to see if it would get better but it didn't so I gave it a 6
dunno why youre still butthurt about it
You were actually saying you thought it wasn't that bad and didn't understand where all the hate came from, and a 6 is high for that show.
I have no idea why you would think I'm butthurt about you liking it. I mention you because you are the only one who have defended it and said positive things about it. Thusly you either have to dislike s1 or be you to like it.
You're either abusing the word butthurt or have the wrong idea for some reason.
How's Koofuku Graffiti?

did the directors kill your family or something, i'm pretty sure i already wrote a post about my thoughts after finishing the show
if anything the only reason why i didnt drop the show right away was because s1 was good, so maybe they'll pull through. I usually don't waste my time with shows I don't enjoy
Actually looking at my mal again I gave it a 5
I don't know why you're so agitated that I didn't shit on it entirely and gave it the benefit of the doubt
So I just finished watching this weird yaoi-ish anime called Orenchi no Furo Jijou... I liked it a lot, and decided to make a parody on it. Besides me obviously advertising myself; did anyone else like the anime?

Nearly Hidamari-tier relaxing with like-able characters.
Log Horizon s2ep14 felt like it squeezed a whole damn arc into one episode, honestly I don't know how I feel about that.
edit: jesus, this ep covered a whole novel?

Are you trying to antagonise me? Provoke me? Pick a fight with me?
Where are these wild accusations even coming from? Do you want me to be mad at you or something?
FA turning into a science thread.
Ughh it's like S2's are cursed with anime...

They sprinkled everything with semen, not sugar

Just wait for Shokugeki no Souma aniem if you want a cooking show
It will have the ecchis too if that matters for you

Holy shit, Rolling Girls was fantastic. It really reminds me a lot of Kyousougiga in the energy and tone it has going on.

Alright watched it and it's really comfy. Every season has to have one anime like this.

The certificate is from 2010 unless they spent 4 years before naming their child.
Age is 29 at the time, they married in 1997... 16 years old...
