And then, add a note on the influence of censorship. I get that essays are annoying, but they're one of the most common things that crop up during your educational period, so good essay writing skills are pretty useful to have. The key word is practice, practice, and practice, and if nothing else, ask people who know more about a topic than you do if you get stumped.
