Undertale is overrated and it looks boring.
I've been overexposed and haven't played a single damn minute of it.
have u played it linda it seems like all the hate comes from people who havent played
No and I doubt I ever will. It looks boring and the twist the game has is stupid.
yea i figured sad that, while most great games get under exposed, this one got so over exposed that no one even wants to try it
i have no interest in undertale's characters because what i have seen of them i really don't care for and the gameplay is just dodging things so there isn't much there for me either [editline]20th October 2015[/editline]
yea i figured sad that, while most great games get under exposed, this one got so over exposed that no one even wants to try it
also this having it shoved into every available orifice of mine kinda left a sour taste
I have no idea what undertale is.
should at least bother trying the demo before judging it tbh smh
I know enough about it to say that I don't want to play it.
[editline]20th October 2015[/editline] I want to play Check-in, Knock-out
I know enough about it to say that I don't want to play it.
Entirely your call
I looked at gameplay of undertale, and now do not see the appeal. It looks pretty mediocre.
I don't think people like any games of that genre for their gameplay
I looked at gameplay of undertale, and now do not see the appeal. It looks pretty mediocre.
The game play is bland. It's mostly story based.
I just feel that if people are gonna judge the gameplay for Undertale at least bother playing it first so you can base your opinions off the experience instead of what you've heard and seen from others. It's kinda lame to hear someone say "this looks boring/shit" when they haven't played any of it, because it might sound like they're just saying that because explosive popularity, even if that's far from the truth.

I'll download the demo tonight and play it, but if it's a mostly story based game, I'm not expecting it to be fun. And I know you weren't specifically talking about me, but i've not heard of undertale until now.
Undertale suffers from the same problem that Frozen did, where it's been shoved in my face so much and i've seen 90% of it without ever watching it/playing it to the point where i've no wants or wishes to even bother.
Undertale suffers from the same problem that Frozen did, where it's been shoved in my face so much and i've seen 90% of it without ever watching it/playing it to the point where i've no wants or wishes to even bother.
which is kinda sad because the game is actually kinda fun, but its understandable since its become that thing. i'd still recommend the demo, but you're free to your own judgement. i think its kinda blown up more than it should've, but eh
I feel like I wasn't over exposed to Undertale. I only ever heard the names of characters and some screenshots of dialogue. Either I unknowningly avoided Undertale stuff or I was lucky enough to learn nothing about it. Same thing with Frozen. I didn't hear about Frozen until the night before I went to go see it.
I cant get past Genocide Undyne :c
Because she's the hero. <--

Undertale is suffering from a circlejerk that is going to hurt its reputation.
Undertale is suffering from a circlejerk that is going to hurt its reputation.
this is the problem with indie games people will swarm around them because the indie label makes them seem unknown even tho tons of people know about it and it just festers into a giant circlejerk i literally know nothing about undertale so i can't speak for the quality of the game but honestly it worries me when a game like this have rave reviews from absolutely everyone and yet people who haven't played it know next to nothing about it the steam page is intentionally vague and if a AAA dev did that people would lose their shit and riot in the streets
Undertale's RPG elements are pretty old school and the gameplay itself isn't anything BRAND NEW. But there's an element of learning to it that's required to be kept a mystery if you want to play it and have fun figuring out what to do when faced with every challenge. I think that's why most people are so "YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT TO FIND OUT." Not story spoilers since I'm not that far into it myself but, just in case: [sp]If you want to spare each monster, in favor over just killing everything, you have to figure out what will settle each monster down before you can successfully spare it. Each monster or type of monster has a different set of actions you have to figure out and complete before you can actually step away from it without killing it. That's where a lot of the "puzzle" factor comes from and that's why most people want to keep it a secret.[/sp] Personally, I'm not a huge fan of old school RPGs and the game isn't PHENOMENAL or anything but it's very cute, the art is pretty great, and the music is catchy and sticks in your mind for a good while. I push people to try it out before condemning it, but I get annoyed by people who don't bother explaining anything about it too. I myself got the game as a gift, otherwise I wouldn't have ever tried it myself.
i have no idea why people want to keep this vague
Anything potentially a spoiler is deemed offensive and must be censored in [sp]spoiler tags[/sp] according to whatever law I pulled out of my rump.
see this isn't a spoiler and is exactly what i would want someone to tell me when i ask about the game i have no idea why people want to keep this vague
I don't get it either, it's a gameplay mechanic that's essential if you want the best ending. IMO it's like saying [sp]mouse1 fires your weapon[/sp] in a shooter.
Afternoon fellow kids.
You really can't understand WHY people are so secretive about the game unless you've played it yourself. That's what the demo is for.
stonecycle would you draw ninny walking his dog and by walking his dog I mean throwing it out of his window like so:
