Well normally I can but it depends on how bad the show is. If it's too terrible then I just barely pay attention to what's going on and don't really take in what I'm reading or what's being said.
For example even though I was watching both just yesterday I can only remember the 3 main characters from The Sacred Blacksmith (Cecily, Luke and Lisa, no idea about the sword woman) and the only name I can recall from Ookami-whatever is Isuzu because I have to keep reminding myself that I want her killed off. (I feel bad for forgetting wheelchair-moe's name though)
