"I'd like to break my cell phone without actually doing anything to it"
Your phone's fine. Don't be a spoiled brat.
Dude, why do you need a new cell phone in the first place? Someone needs some discipline.
(In spoiled kids, it ALWAYS has to do with phones for some god-knows-what reason.)
Flash the cells firmware with a bin from an old phone. The phone will refuse to boot and will be virtually irreparable. Best of all no physical damage, blame it on a bad software update.
Don't see why you really want a new phone, my moto v360 still works fine, no glitter. Its about 4 years old. There's not really much a new phone can provide for you that you would actually use in the long run, most new phones just have the hardware's places mixed around and the GUI's replaced. Not very much extra function is added.
EDIT: Just realised through sleep deprived haze what phone we're talking of. You have an LG Dare and you want to dispose of it for a new one?! I couldn't bring myself to do such travesty! Honestly, be happy you're not stuck with this:

I mean, if you were, then I would actually feel sorry for you.
Buy a new phone and dont care what your parents say
I have an LG Banter (verizon phone too) Want to trade :v:
Water damage do not show up at all, once it is dried
It does. You can spot oxidisation on the motherboard and charger contact. There are small patches aswell that's atatched both to the motherboard and the battery that will change color if in contact with water.
You really don't think a workshop can see that?

oops late
The reason they won't let you get a new phone is probably because of the contract they set up for it. If you were to buy a new phone, it would be a ridiculous amount of money without signing a X year contract. (Which if you did sign a new X-year contract, would mean you would be paying for two X year contracts). You could cancel the contract but it would also cost a ridiculous amount of money. (I've got sprint and they charge like $100-$200 to cancel a contract)
My bros got a blackberry curve and it was free with 2-year contract, but without a contract it was like $200 or something. It's how they make some of their money.
Listen to this guy, he speaks the truth.
Though, if you're dead set on destroying it, wouldn't some magnets do a number on it?
Ugh. Drive off and throw it in a bush. Then say it got stolen. If you have insurance, you will keep your contract. Fork over a little more cash and you're okay to get the new phone including the contract.
Worked with my Nokia.
Place int in you back pocket of the tightest trousers you have. Put some keys between you butoocks and the phone.
Sit down on a hard chair.
Just overcharge the battery, remember to not be near it when you do though, kinda makes a firey explosion, or a solid fuel rocket engine depending on the battery
Lithium batteries give the most fun :v::
(These are lithium ion batteries, but still)

Would have to be electromagnets, a powerful one at that. People think this would work, but in reality it doesn't, I could drag a handful of rare earth magnets(One of the most powerful non electrical magnets) over my HDD and it wouldn't do anything.

Shit, nevermind.
Magnets are probably your best option.
Or just break it by "accident", it's what my friends do if they want a new phone. But seriously, you don't need a new one.
Just go and buy a new phone anyways, and keep it in your pocket when your parents are around.
If someone calls you, just go somewhere private. That should work for at least a couple of months.
How about instead of wrecking that one, you try to sell it and buy a new one yourself with the money earned + some you might already have?
Whiny little bitch, stick to that phone you have now. Instead of whine money from your hard working parents.
Just give it to me.
In return I'll give you a paper version of it that looks broken to trick your parents.
Maybe you could take off the battery, and put one cable over each pole on the phone and the other ends of the cables directly to any plug in the wall.
That should short circuit your phone and you could blame it on the battery.
Try not to electrocute yourself though.
Stop being a needy bitch and just live with the phone you have.
Read the OP dumbass.
