I don't tend to think it's that odd if girls go on the internet, even the nerdier parts like here/ reddit/ the chans. I know girls irl who browse some of them, so it doesn;t seem to farfetched that people like them exist elsewhere in the world. Also Rinfect exists so yeh. weather or not the girl is attractive is a different thing tho
There's a lot of fuckin' dogma about how literally everyone you meet on the internet is a 50 year old pedophile and any attempt to meet them will mean certain death, how internet people are not real, how you can't be sure because no ~pheromones~, and a giant fucking string of retarded bullshit that comes after that. However I do operate under the policy that everyone I meet on the internet is a man until proven otherwise, people call me sexist for that, but it's a pretty legitimate policy considering the volume of men on the internet, and the percentage of those men who are pretending to be women. The key to determining if someone on the internet is lying, is having common sense and a tiny bit of proof.
I really dont care
I assume everybody is male until told otherwise or I hear their voice. It hardly matters anyway.
I don't really believe it until I have some proof. not that I mind that it's a woman or anything, but I've met waay too many people here on the internet claiming to be female when not
yeah sure what harm is it going to do
Girls don't exist, I can assure you of this.
I've had problems in the past convincing some people I was a guy, but yknow. I usually couldn't care less other than for the sake of referring to someone as him/her, he/she etc
yeah sure what harm is it going to do
You could fall in love and have your dreams crushed of course.
I was basically a gold digger on runescape. Basically changed my gender to girl, pretended to be one and befriended some guys and they gave me 100's of thousands of gp. Little did they know I was actually just a 10 year old chubby male.

When I was playing DIRETIDE of 2012, I was once told that someone I was playing with was in-fact of the female gender. I was surprised and at the same time I believed it. This is because DIRETIDE is not a time for false promises, but rather a time for great joy in celebration of annual festivities. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give DIRETIDE OFFICIAL GIVE DIRETIDE RESOURCE HERE: http://GiveDIRETIDE.com/ (User was permabanned for this post ("spam" - postal))
Second question: Do they dance on mailboxes?
My sister used to do that in Guildwars and WOW. She was rolling in loot and money.
I have no reason to not believe them, but it is not deserving of special treatment. The reason why I do not do it is because people stop treating you like a person and start attention hugging you, for example flooding friend requests, item trade requests (on steam) and annoying people who ask you questions all the time in the text chat.
Yes and no Yes I'll believe them, but I won't blindly trust their word nor do I give a shit because really it does not justify any rewards or unique treatment oh, you're a female? So?
Also people stalk you, and it sucks. I have gone through 15 steam name changes and one person is still trying to friend me through duplicate accounts. Treat people the same whether they are an alien from planet s-13 or a pigeon.

Little did they know I was actually just a 10 year old chubby male.
Speaking of Runescape, thats where I met my first girlfriend :V I was just minding my own business, farming coal from the coal ores near Lumbridge and the Wizards tower, when this female character came along and started asking about what we got on our SAT's. An odd question but he we got into a conversation, and chatted about stupid stuff. Over time I got to know her better and asked for her MSN address where we chatted outside of our games. I was 14 when I me her so I was the gullible kind of kid thinking she was a girl just because she said she was, and luckily for me, she really was a girl. We got into a video chat and we were all super best friends and all, then one day I asked her if she wanted to meet up, we did, we went to watch The Golden Compass, which I complained about because I'd read the books beforehand and I found that a lot of stuff wasn't the same as the books and the movie ended like, two chapters before the book ended. We stayed together for 2 years, I'd go and visit her twice a month. But we split up because of the long distance stuff, and that broke my heart and I still love her, but since then, she's been with 4 other guys. Anyway, on topic stuff, ask for a video chat for proof I suppose.
Yes, until they show me their dicks.
Wow so just because they have a dick they can't be a girl?
Yes, until they show me their dicks.
aw, but that's where it gets interesting
skype and webcam go go go
Better question is: Does it really actually matter? Unless you're planning on getting intimate with them irl or otherwise starting an intimate relationship I don't see why it does.
Unless the conversation has naturally led to that point I tell them to fuck off. Nobody cares what gender you are on the internet. Male or female it literally doesn't matter at all unless the topic at hand is something to do with gender.
The only thing I can think of is using the correct pronouns, otherwise it shouldn't make any other differences.
Fair point actually. I tend to refer to people neutrally until I know otherwise but that doesn't seem to be a very common thing from what I've seen. Most people just assume it's a guy regardless of anything short of the person saying they're a girl.
