No, not at all.
Just making sure!
One day you realize you've been pissing in a sea of piss. That's how it feels.
I remember some old foggat said something like that. I wonder what happened to him.
Since I won't have conscious thought when I die, I don't feel scared about it.
Just making sure!
I'm assuming from your quick defense you were brought up in a non-religious family?
Since I won't have conscious thought when I die, I don't feel scared about it.
Doesn't the brain work for a certain amount of time after the rest of the body dies?
I'm a Christian, but sometimes, I'm not really sure what I think will happen when I die.
Thinking too much about it gives me a horrible feeling in my stomach. I try not to think about it.
Of course you don't like thinking, you are religious. Logic and thinking are some of the things religious people can't do.
I'm assuming from your quick defense you were brought up in a non-religious family?
Difficult to answer. My mom is devout Christian and my dad is a strong Atheist. But considering the fact my mom was so strongly Christian she never really put anything onto me as far as I can recall. She's more recently tried. But I don't consider myself to have a religious up bringing.

Oh yeah? Enlighten me why?
I think death is an important part of life and a necessary part of society. I don't think death should be sad at all. It is a beginning for a new part of your life. Whether you are religious or not.
Doesn't the brain work for a certain amount of time after the rest of the body dies?
3 Hours if I recall correctly, then it shuts down.
But, I personally fear death, I don't like the fact about the possibility of nothing being after death. I enjoy being able to live.

You are COOL.
:fuckoff:
im not scared of death

It's normal to fear death. No-one wants to die. That's why I'm going to be a cyborg.

Lets be serious here. As a frisbeetarianist I love bashing on religion as much as you probably do. That being said, religious people are still people and are capable of logic.
When I'm dead I won't probably care about it, and if there's a god and god forgives, god will forgive me for being an atheist.
And honestly if you guys aren't sure about which God/Gods are right. WHY NOT PRAY TO ALL OF THEM?!?!?!? It'll take awhile but you'll get into whatever place doesn't roast your nipples fo sho
My family is religious (not overly so), so I've always been brought up good, but my pessimistic side gets the better of me sometimes and I think about the possibility of non-existence after death
How did he dodge the boxes for this? He implied that a good upbringing involves religion.
Sometimes i think about it, but it just....happens.
I belive everyone comes back eventually.....
if not, Heaven must be pretty kickass. :v:

You're fucked if there really is a God. Seriously, he/she won't forgive you - why in God's name would he/she? You lived you're life without once praying to him/her
Had to edit cause I dunno if I should say him or her.
im not scared of death
death is scared of me
We all know only ONE person in this world can afford to say that... and it's definitely not you.
Oh yeah? Enlighten me why?
The whole concept behind religion is beliving that something you can't prove exists. It's a natural habit of the human race to think that they are protected somehow, and that they are a divine creature. Its most likely not that way. Religion is a delusion created by an egocentric specie.
How did he dodge the boxes for this? He implied that a good upbringing involves religion.
I was not insisting that.
I think that life's a bitch and then you die.
We die, then it's the end of it. Nothing more. BAM.
I really think death is overrated, it's not really a big thing, it's just the end of 'life' really.
I was not insisting that.
Yeah, me and him already went through this.
You're fucked if there really is a God. Seriously, he won't forgive you - why in God's name would he? You lived you're life without once praying to him.
I prayed when I was little. But then I grew up and thought about it, and I decided that believing on something that is obvious a fabrication from a specie that likes to think it's divine is stupid.
Go into detail, you got me interested.
Sure. Keep in mind. This is what I came up with my theory on death.
After the whole ordeal of becoming really ill. Spending a lot of time recovering led me to having a lot of time to think about what had happened.
My belief is, as I said. Death is whatever you want it to be. If you grew up believing you will go to heaven, then you shall. If you believe in reincarnation then it will happen.
In death, time does not exist, matter does not exist, Does conscience exist maybe.
Ever have someone ask you, "If you could, would you change how you lived your life, change it for the better, etc"
In death you have that option.
Many people believe in reincarnation. But a lot of people argue that it's impossible. As if everyone chose to became reincarnated then there would be a massive boom in population.
However as I said before, Time may not exist in death, Thus you won't necessarily be reincarnated in the future, but in the past and present.
why can't we remember anything of our past lives, well, if matter/time and conscience does not exist how would we remember!
I know this seems complicated, But it is my belief.
In no way I am saying it's right.
Death should not be feared. It is going to happen. All I can say is enjoy the little things. And live to the fullest, who knows when you time will come to an end, But it doesn't have to be a bad thing.
I feel bad because I don't want to be nothing :crying:
Yeah, me and him already went through this.
I edited the thread just to leave out anymore confusion.

Explain how it is "obvious"?
You're fucked if there really is a God. Seriously, he won't forgive you - why in God's name would he? You lived you're life without once praying to him.
If God is real, and truly loves me. He'd forgive me for being a good person, not because I chose to pray to him to get into heaven.
