Well, no human can prove either argument, man cannot prove God, and man cannot disprove God,
It's really a faith thing, and when you do come to the point where you realize the truth, believe me, you KNOW it's true. That's the only way one can prove God, but only to himself. You really must come to that point where you just say, "well, if God's out there, come show yourself" and believe me, he will.
Human sees a black cat, and gets hit by a car. Human thinks that it was the black cat that gave him bad luck.
Human doesn't see a black cat and gets hit by a car. Human doesn't relate hes luck with anything.
Same thing in religion.
Human prays to god for his mother to not die from an illness. Mother doesn't die, its a miracle! Hallowed be thy name!
Human prays to god for his mother to not die from an illness. Mother dies. Human doesn't even consider anything.

It's called a discussion.
Say whatever you want, but the thing you just said is wrong. You're saying that you should be loved and forgiven by God, whether you actually believe in him or not. That's wrong. I never said that it's bad to give your opinion.
I'm just stating that if he is all loving, then why does he require us to worship and pray.
Well at fist i felt like "Meh I'll just die, what can happen?". But now when I'm older i think more like "Well if i die, what will happen? Will i slave underground? will i be resurrected on some other kind of planet? Will i go to heaven? Will i just lie there and look straight into my coffin lid?"
Maybe it sounds ridiculous but that's what i think.
We all are just living to die so I'm not afraid of death. Shit happens.
Wouldn't God like nonbelievers more, logically? If people were constantly begging me to fix their petty problems, I'd sure like the people that decided to take their problems on themselves better.
I'm just stating that if he is all loving, then why does he require us to worship and pray.
Kamikaze, Think that you're God, you just went to hell and back in the shittiest and most painful death ever.
Would you not want the people you DIED for to worship you?
You ask: what is the meaning or purpose of life? I can only answer with another question: do you think we are wise enough to read God's mind?

No, why would I?
Ask the Buddha the same question. He urged people not to worship him because he was no god.

Why would you even HAVE to die for us? What the acutual fucking fuck? If he can do EVERYTHINg and ANYTHING he should just snap his fingers and make it so. its all just a bunch of complicated bullshit to keep the average person down.

In that case, god is egoistic and and created humans to fuck around with them.
Edit: I just did a paper cut for humanity, worship me or else you will all go to hell.
In that case, god is egoistic and and created humans to fuck around with them.
ITT: Humans are god's playthings.
Isn't the Christian God a very egotistical and jealous god?
Isn't the Christian God a very egotistical and jealous god?
No, he is a perfect being that just happens to have very petty and basic human emotions.
I'm just stating that if he is all loving, then why does he require us to worship and pray.
Because if you go with the idea of that God excists and done, you will not do anything with it. If you don't worship him (if you tell it from a religious way) you'll go to hell. Why? Because you sinned. God didn't sent you. You chose to go there by commiting sins.
I am kinda curious what it will be like. My mind crumbling apart, to completely cease exist? Or to get on some totally different plane of existence?
The only thing I know about afterlife/death for sure is, that I will have to find out on my own, and that's extremely exciting.
This would be funny if there really is a God and he is hearing all of this right now. Enjoy hell.

God will surely understand that my lack of faith is a product of the mind he gave me, and forgive me.

God chose to let sins be in the world. He "created" us knowing full well that some people are going to go to hell for just not chosing to worship something they thing wasn't real.
You ask: what is the meaning or purpose of life? I can only answer with another question: do you think we are wise enough to read God's mind?
Life is utterly and completely meaningless.
Well everything dies, I think it's actually kind of peaceful. Just imagine forever nothingness like before you were born. I was dead billions of years before I was born so what's the difference anyway.
You ask: what is the meaning or purpose of life? I can only answer with another question: do you think we are wise enough to read God's mind?
I can give you the answer: to survive and reproduce. That's what it is for the billions of other species on Earth and it's the core meaning of our lives, of course we can attribute our own personal purposes or goals because we have quite advanced brains.
Life is utterly and completely meaningless.
Exactly. And humans try to think its not because they are afraid.

We live because we die: Death exists so that more life can be created.
God will surely understand that my lack of faith is a product of the mind he gave me, and forgive me.
No. I'm quite sure it would be 'It was your life, your choices and you could do whatever you wanted'
One thing that's always frightened me about death is how quickly somebody's life can be over. A man may step off the pavement without looking thoroughly enough, and ends up hit by a bus. That's him dead in a second. He was born to loving parents, went to a decent school, managed to get himself a good career, and it'd all be over in an instant.
There's also the question about not knowing what happens when you die. I've often compared it to sleeping, how time seems to pass so fast while you're asleep. But I don't know whether that's like an infinitely long wait.
I don't know about whether there's an afterlife, and I suppose this uncertainty leaves me somewhat concerned whenever someone dies. I'm agnostic, so couldn't tell you whether there was an afterlife like heaven, or just nothing. As unlikely to be the case as it seems to me, I really hope it's the first.
I am a generic christian, so I believe in Heaven and Hell and all of that.
I believe there will be "something" after death. But we can't even begin to guess what it is, because our minds can't comprehend it. Our minds, won't allow us to.
I'm not sure we couldn't understand it. We're hard at work getting to understand the universe already, and there's plenty of people who are getting their heads around it. We're bound to have some clever sod who'll understand.
The difficulty proving or getting to know anything is the existence of any afterlife is only documented. And as such, our knowledge of any afterlife is limited to the detail said documents go into. Any holes they don't fill in will never be filled in unless we find a way to get to these afterlives and come back again.
No. I'm quite sure it would be 'It was your life, your choices and you could do whatever you wanted'
and also: "It was the life I gave you, worshiping me wasn't written on your genetic code, so I will not blame you for it."
This would be funny if there really is a God and he is hearing all of this right now. Enjoy hell.
But if I've been a good person and not done anything to harm my fellow man, why should I be concerned? If god wants us to be good people, shouldn't that be enough?
Surely the fact that we are a skeptical and critical species with the ability to think for ourselves would be a sign that God had succeeded?
I have a fear of dying alone.
this should explain everything
