1. Fallout - There really is no explanation for this. The humor, the plot, the character development, hell everything. It was as near as you could get to perfection in a game.
2. Planescape: Torment - Amazing game, one of the best from Black Isle.
3. System Shock 2 - Horrific, atmospheric, and at the same time beautiful. Nothing quite like this game, except for Ken Levine's recent wet dreams.
4. Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura - The combat is shit, but no RPG offers as much of an open-ended world as this.
5. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl - An evolution in the FPS genre IMO.
6. Deus Ex - Another evolution, had flaws but quickly made you forget about them. Everything, from the plot to the gameplay, was superb
7. Fallout 2 - Not as good as Fallout 1, but still awesome.
8. Quake - Multiplayer was top-dog on this game and singleplayer didn't disappoint either.
9. Operation Flashpoint - Good ol' classic, even to this day. Many have moved onto ArmA, but it still has a special place in many hearts.
10. Mirror's Edge - Was a breath of fresh air, and the total package in all departments. Except for storyline, which was terrible.

10. Minecraft: Love this game, creative servers bore me to shit but Survival/RP is great fun, especially playing on a world map!

-Guitar Hero/Rockband (before it went downhill, which I think was some point after RB2)
-Counter-Strike:Source (Have 500 hours, and counting!)
-GarrysMod (Was a great game, has somehow lost its magic though)
-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (Still better than all the newer titles IMHO)
-Super Smash Brothers (I have played all the games extensively)
TES 3: Morrowind - My first game, a lot of nostalgia effects, but god damn that's over 600 hours well spent on the best f*cking game ever made.
Borderlands - Yea, its repetitive, but its the only game I ever bought twice, and I played through it 5 times now, something gotta be awesome about it.
Oblivion - Worthy successor to Morrowind, almost as fun, kinda console-y, but still awesome.
Thief 3 - Introduced me to the AWESOME Thief series, worst part but also gives me the nostalgia.
Thief 2 - Atmosphere and immersion unmatched. Best stealth game to day.
Unreal 2 - Again, huge Nostalgia factor, one of the first FPS I played, got me started on the whole UT series as well.
Unreal Tournament / ThieveryUT for Unreal Tournament - One of the best competitive FPS around, and Thievery is probably the best mod for it in my opinion. Sadly dead now.
Call of Duty Series - COD 2 was also one of the first shooters I played, and I enjoyed every part of the series except WAW and 3, which I never got.
EVE Online - I suck at it, but never before has a game managed to give me a sense of freedom and possibility like this.
Battlefield 2 - Best tactical FPS ever made, I have hours of huge fun with this on LAN parties to this day.

In no particular order:
Neverwinter Nights (I!) - One of the best RPGs I've ever played, and in my opinion the last really good RPG. NWN2 was pretty good, too, DAO wasn't bad, but they were going in the wrong direction. I didn't even bother playing DA2 after seeing the demo.
Warcraft III - again, really a game I think back to. Battle.net was funny too, with all the different game modes.
Half-Life 2 - quite self-explanatory in my opinion.
Medieval II - Total War - while the diplomacy is kinda lacking, it's a very fun game with a lot of strategy going on.
Portal - puzzle game at it's best, sadly I haven't bought the sequel yet, and I guess I'll only be positively surprised when I buy it.
Super Mario Bros. - simply one of the games I played alot on my GameBoy colour.
Pokemon Blue - again a game that occupied ~800 hours of my time on my GameBoy colour.
AoE - one of the first strategy games I played.
This is only 8 games, but I can't really make the list longer without including some games, that while being fun, hasn't had a large impact on my memory. The list is made mostly out of nostalgia, (with some exceptions) so I don't expect many to understand all of them.
