I forgot what it's called, but it's somewhat similar to an acquired taste. You'd have to have watched it around the time it came out in order to enjoy it. I'm more than likely wrong, and I've forgotten the phrase used for it. I grew up watching it and loved it for Kramer.

you're can't really appreciate the humour unless you watch the show from the very beginning so you recognise all of the characters' nuances and why the interact with each other the way they do. it also really helps if you understand what they're referencing, mostly '80s-'90s pop-culture

The fact is, you weren't around or just didn't give a fuck about Seinfeld when it aired, and when you watched other Sitcoms and then came back to Seinfeld, you think 'I saw this shit on <sitcom> before!
