Blade Runner
I'm just going to say this...
If you're looking for an old movie that stands well today - look no further then Blade Runner.
Released in 1982, it is my favourite movie and it might be yours too.
It's part of the Sci-Fi genre and many say it invented the "cyber-punk" era (it didn't really invent the cyber-punck genre, people sort of bullshit when they say that. There have been other movies that take place in the future. Although, not have had the success that Blade Runner had. So yes, while Blade Runner didn't invent cyber-punk, it sure as hell perfected it).
It's 10/10 for me. Here's a few reasons why:
Story - Replicants, Blade runners and fucking futuristic orgasms of nostalgia.
No... That's 50%. The other 50 goes like this:
Story - Deckard, a blade runner, has to track down and terminate 4 replicants (replicants - Bio engineered humans) who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to Earth seeking their maker.
Characters - Evil, good, emotions, every character has something that makes them likeable.
Atmosphere - Could be made into a sand-box game.
Blade Runner influenced many games and movies as well. Snatcher and Policenauts both immediately come to mind.
In any case, I highly recommend watching this movie.
And if it's not Blade Runner, then watch Goldeneye 007.
Guinea Pig 2: Flower of Flesh & Blood
Silent Night, Deadly Night 5: The Toy Maker
Children of the Corn 3: Urban Harvest
children of men
