Django Unchained. Fucking masterpiece, has the 3 most memorable characters of this decade in film. Fucking amazing. I wasn't really fond of the new style tarantino tried in Inglorious Basterds, but having pefected it for this movie, it's a damn landmark. [editline]31st December 2013[/editline]
Children of Men
I'm going to have to watch that, I love the theme and all, idk why I haven't gotten around to it yet
what movies do this?
When I look at movies like act of valor I see something of a recruitment drive, it tries to show America's defence force has the best equipment, best soldiers, best everything. I don't like those kind of things in military films, it just seems kinda shitty to send those kind of messages, there are many better armed forces around the world with more capable equipment or are better trained; like the spetznas, they have quite old equipment but when it comes to doing the job they can and most likely will outperform an American marines unit by miles. I don't know whether this post makes alot of sense or not as I am writing it at 2AM.
The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are enjoyable watches both. The third however, made me cringe.
Apocalypse now Duel Maximum overdrive Night of the living dead Cannibal holocaust Attack on precinct 13 (not the remake) Big trouble in little china Miracle mile Escape from new york They live Postal Edit: I almost forgot, The Warriors
Alien, Aliens, The Thing (1982), Predator, Predators, Terminator 1 and 2 are all excellent sci-fi action/horror movies that everybody should watch LOTR Dredd Goldeneye Evil Dead Series Batman Begins/TDK Spider-Man 1 (best spider-man film IMO, and it has great non-cgi fights - I think SM2, 3 and TASM suck tho) Iron Man 1 (most grounded, and most interesting iron man film) Indiana Jones Series (excluding 4, though Temple of Doom isn't nearly as good as the Lost Ark or Last Crusade) Star Wars (Original trilogy) Tropic Thunder Commando Scarface Home Alone Toy Story Aladdin The Rock (just to see sean connery with nicolas cage)
The Mist
