Isn't it still a bad idea to look at the sun directly? UV rays would still be getting through right?
Which century?
Most of the times when they say "turn of the century" it means: 19th century -> 20th century.

19th Century -> 20th Century
1899 -> 1900
Ok, I didn't think switzerland was that far behind the rest of the world.
yep, an isolated building in the middle of nowhere definitely shows what the whole country was like
Ok, I didn't think switzerland was that far behind the rest of the world.
When you say 20th century, you're talking about the 1900's.
Because the 1st century would be 0-999 CE.

Yeah I know. I meant that I did not think that switzerland could possibly be so far behind the rest of the world that it would look like that at the turn of the 21st century. I can see why people misunderstood.

Actually today we do it like this:

:v:
To be honest though, today we try alot to preserve that image. It's something the tourists really like and we ourselves identify us alot with. So while we have centers like Zürich or Geneva, you'll still find the untouched nature in the mountains, where you'll never even hear a car.
