Yeah, and I thought those were spare fuel tanks until I saw the stability fins.
The Mil V-12 is basically just.
"Hey, lets get a plane, AND PUT ROTORS ON IT"
Is it bad that the only helicopter I can recognise is the Hind?

Mehh it's okay, big icon for the Soviets back in the day so thats why it's well known I guess..
KA-50 is still the coolest in my opinion.

I have a massive rotary fetish and wouldn't mind some mecha porn of this.

Didn't know wind speed was measured in Km when in the context of dog face manilpulation.
Really not difficult to add a "/h" on the end.
MI8 is still my favorite soviet chopper

When I lived in Florida the local Civi air patrol had 3 or 4 MI8's and 2 Hueys. was kind of cool to watch them all fly together, considering they were usually fighting against each other in Vietnam.

I've always liked the Mi-17
Anybody remember the Mi-4?

Artist's representation of "Eden"
I like it, even though I could never believe the Genesis, this version is really imaginative.
Who photoshopped the edges so horribly? the original is not that wide.
Who photoshopped the edges so horribly? the original is not that wide.
I was originally going to take the pic from a wallpaper site who had the full image, but they didn't allow hotlinking (I also forgot the name of the original artist), so I went for the next best thing.

Actually I did, just to make it fit my laptop. I dont remember where I uploaded it tho, wonder how they found it.

You would have to be a special kind of retarded not to know better.
Russian helicopters move over, my baby is in the house!

Many people do not appreciate this helicopter, but I have a great amount of respect for it due to it being my job to maintain them. Though I do want to know what the engineers were smoking when they put some components where they did. Also, they never fly with the ALQ any more. It has a CMWS and flare launcher now.
Aw yea, Eurocopter Tiger

You can keep your plastic helicopter.

It's actually carbon fibre and kevlar, not plastic
Alright, I know choppers are cool, but is there nothing else worth posting?
Wait a sec...
Here we go:

That's Jetman Yves Rossy, flying beneath a DC3.
And here's a video of it:

Talking about aesthetic jets:

Mig25
That "retro-futuristic" design is so sexy. One would think it is some jet from a videogame.

it went 5 kph
no thanks
Needs bigger barrel.
Needs more dakka.
It's actually carbon fibre and kevlar, not plastic
Might want to rethink that statement. It has plastic rotor blades, and it is not made OF carbon fiber, rather it has carbon fiber reinforcing a polymer compound. I know it also is made of kevlar, but I was just making a joke about its plasticity.
