My grandparents were both teachers in Japan, and after they retired, they travelled to over 50 countries doing some awesome things. Going on Safari's, skydiving, eating piranhas, you name it. They became too tired to do those things of late though.

My dad worked, then took a few years off just travelling across the Atlantic to the US, visiting every state (and meeting my mom in the process.)
Chicago [t]http://i.imgur.com/an4zx.jpg[/t]
Is it me, or is that the greenest city ever. Well, that I have ever seen.
Is it me, or is that the greenest city ever. Well, that I have ever seen.
The city is the big grey bit near the sea, the rest (green bit) is suburbs.
Chicago [t]http://i.imgur.com/an4zx.jpg[/t]
American cities are surreal to me. They are so blocky. As if they were made in sim city.

How do they make this? I'm thinking open shutter, but wouldn't the light be like a streak then?
As if they were made in sim city.
Well Sim City is... kind of based on American cities.
I guess he took several long exposures and then made an animation out of them.
I think he took several videos instead, and then set their transparencies accordingly, like if he had 5 videos, he'd put 20% opacity for each of them, and each of them at different places. [editline]15th January 2013[/editline] There are LOTS of ways to do it.

If he wouldn't stay still the light would leave trails.
American cities are surreal to me. They are so blocky. As if they were made in sim city.
I'm thinking it might have to do with the age of the cities. Our oldest are still relatively young compared to a lot of other major world cities.
American cities are surreal to me. They are so blocky. As if they were made in sim city.
It was designed to be more efficient from the start, opposed to a lot of European cities that just sorta sprung up.
The city is the big grey bit near the sea, the rest (green bit) is suburbs.
That's not the sea. That's a lake.
That's not the sea. That's a lake.
And it's great.
American cities are surreal to me. They are so blocky.
