This wasn't really a planned battle, it was a small scale assault at first then more and more people from several factions joined. I think reddits corporation was in and fighting too, they lost IIRC

the cluster fuck reminds me of Star wars Galaxies' old space combat. The imperial faction was typically ex-military or current military old men. The Rebels were always 14-18 year olds who really didn't care and were there for fun. The Imperials always flew in straight and proper formations, gun boats with fighter escorts with all POV's covered. The Rebels were usually a katamari-ball of advanced x-wings and a few gun boats. Man that games space combat used to be a blast.
