Shinobi, Nightshade, and Devil May Cry 3 are my picks. There's also Metal Slug Anthology which has 1-6. Mega Man X 8 is good when it isn't being a shitty auto-scroller.
Not even xtreme g?
Oh man prepare for a list of all the games I had a blast playing
Jak and Daxter (all of them) Ratchet and Clank (all of them) Destroy All Humans (1 preferrable, 2 is ok and avoid everything after 2) Devil May Cry 1 and 3, 2 is shit Okami Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 Final Fantasy X (X-2 if you really want that one too), and XII God of War 1 and 2 Splinter Cell (all of them) Timesplitters (ALL OF THEM) War of the Monsters ICO Shadow of the Colossus God Hand Max Payne Killer 7 Viewtiful Joe Star Wars: Battlefront Psychonauts Onimusha (1-3, you can skip Dawn of Dreams since it has nothing to do with the original 3 except for a specific character who reveals himself at the end) Odin Sphere Beyond Good and Evil BLACK Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas
[editline]1st October 2015[/editline] Obviously if you already own the ones that are also on PC then ignore them on the list but I highly highly recommend ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, BLACK, Persona 3 and 4, Jak and Daxter series and Ratchet and Clank series oh and Kingdom Hearts.
Fucking Okami was the shit on the PS2. Way better on the PS2 than it was on the Wii
I third War of The Monsters. It's such a great game and every time I've played it with splitscreen we've had a blast. I still got my copy in fact.
Tekken 5
Any of the Tony Hawk games (Aside from Proving Ground), and The Spyro the Dragon series. And if you're into first person shooters maybe BLACK and Call of Duty:Finest Hour.
Is it just me or does anyone else feel like the shining gems of the Spyro games were on the PS1?
Katamari shit my merge
Pacman world 2, great game with lots of gameplay :D
The Jak and Ratchet trilogies are both action-platforming classics. Persona 4 is an amazing game but the Golden version for PS Vita improves and adds so much that the PS2 version is just blown out the water. I've got two copies of Gran Turismo 3, they're both pre-owned and scratched to the hell. Only the first disk can load cars, but there's five or so race courses that will only load by inserting the second disk. :v:
The swinging mechanics are still one of the best today. Story and fighting is semi lacking though.
I already posted that. :(
Sly 1-3 are games you should definitely pick up, but if you can only get 1 of 3 get #2. [t]http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/8/6/0/17860_front.jpg[/t][t]http://s.emuparadise.org/fup/up/150813-Sly_2_-_Band_of_Thieves_(USA)-1.jpg[/t][t]http://images.wikia.com/sly/images/d/d7/PS2Sly3.jpg[/t] Then there is this gem of a game. [t]http://media.gamestats.com/gg/image/transformers_ps2usbox.jpg[/t] It's a difficult third person shooter with some Dark Souls elements, but dumbed down for children.
These games. These fucking games! Everyone with a Ps2 should have at least 3 of these in their library. Transformers in particular. You'd never expect this game to have amazing replay-ability even after beating the final boss. Also, all of the Star Wars games. Yes, I said all of them. Sequel to the best-selling Star Wars game of all time indeed!
Oh god, too many to list! These two come to mind though: [thumb]http://img.gamefaqs.net/box/8/3/4/64834_front.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://s.emuparadise.org/fup/up/150985-Xenosaga_Episode_I_-_Der_Wille_zur_Macht_%28USA%29-1.jpg[/thumb]
[t]http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/2/20198/765423-warriorscoverps2.jpg[/t] if you have a buddy to play with, this one is a must. I remember me and my friend beating the living shit out of each other (in game) with all the little objects and weapons scattered around the levels, or else spawning super buff dudes and playing a 'survival' kind of mode, launching them off rooftops. You won't regret it.
What about Dog's Life? Is one of those games I have never had, only got the demo and it was pretty fun. And of course all the Kingdom Hearts games.
Just started replaying Mercenaries on an emulator and it's as great as I remember.
final fantasy 12, i played like 70 hours into it and then my sister borrowed my ps2 and lost the disc. i really liked it
Yes, but in the first PS2 version and that version only. Spawned in the back of the police station in Washington Beach, but nowhere else on the map. I still have my own copy of it, but sadly the disc is too scratched to play anymore :s:
You're shitting me. Fuck man, I want to test that but my disc is scratched, too.
Splinter Cell Double Agent, PS2 version is so much different and it's so good.
MGS 3 Subsistence, Burnout 2 and 3 and the Timesplitters trilogy Also check out XIII, one hell of a fucking game [sp]if you want to wrap up the story, though, you'll have to read the comics[/sp]
Ratchet gladiator Burnout 3 takedown
Ratchet and Clank 3 is probably the high point of the series. [editline]4th October 2015[/editline] Most of the really good PS2 games have been mentioned already so I'll list off some PS1 games that you might be interested in, you can play those now too. Spyro the Dragon series (Notably 3) Crash Bandicoot series (Notably 3) MediEvil Metal Gear Solid Oddworld series (Notably Abe's Oddysee) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 Resident Evil Silent Hill Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Syphon Filter Ape Escape
if you want to have some good PS1 fun I reccomend you check out Demolition Racer Test Drive : Eve of Destruction on PS2 is also supposedly good
If you don't have access to a PC then I guess Deus Ex: The Conspiracy. But that game is old and chances are if you can post here on any PC made in the past 7 years you can run Deus Ex so really play that on PC.
Every twisted metal and kingdom hearts game you can get
I highly recommend Rayman 2: Revolution, Rayman 3, SSX 3 and tricky, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 and finally, Burnout 3: Takedown.
Are you a fan of rpgs? If so you can get: Persona 3 FES Persona 4 Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne SMT: Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 Dragon Quest VIII
if you get any ps1 games remember that you need a ps1 memory card as well.
Dokapon Kingdom so you can invite your friends over and make them not your friends anymore. If you think when people say "Mario party ends friendships" is legit you haven't seen anything.
If you want to get Silent Hill, get this. I have it, and it's p-great. Doesn't come with the little extra for Silent Hill 2, but you can just look it up online. Now, I ain't sure if the PS2 is region free, so I'm not sure if it would work considering it is Europe only.
