I have never realy use mac so i voted PC
I'd definitely have to buy a macbook only because of garageband. That is the only excuse for me to buy a mac. whoa nelly the 13" MacBook Pro costs 1149€. Ugh. No macbook for me in a long long long time.
Why do people buy crappy overpriced mac hardware? if you really feel like you need to use mac programs, just install the OS onto another computer, works just the same.
where the fuck are my beloved num lock, print screen, and pause/break buttons? That keyboard is much less usable to me without them.
Screen Cap: Shift+Command+3 Screen Cap Selected Area: Shift+Command+4
I'd love to have a Mac laptop, if someone would give me one. They're overprized and frigging dumbed down. Even an infant could use one for fucks sake. So I'll stay with PC, much cheaper. Also the Mac OS fucking sucks, okay it looks nice but TRY TO PLAY SOME GAMES.
Please be a bigger troll.
Why do people buy crappy overpriced mac hardware? if you really feel like you need to use mac programs, just install the OS onto another computer, works just the same.
Probably because Apple made it incredibly hard to do. See further in my post if you care enough about them being monopolistic. Hackintoshes aren't easy, possible, but not too easy. It's a violation of agreements too, not that many people care what with the prevalence of piracy. ________________________________________________ I came into this thread not expecting much, but the vast majority of you (especially OP and you "DOHOHOHOHOHO No games!") guys are just being Pro-Windows trolls. I am currently running OS X 10.6.3 and here's what I'll say: -You can right click. You can use any damn USB mouse on any Apple computer. Stop complaining about that considering for the last 3-4 years you've been able to change the setting to be able to right-click with the Apple brand mice. -The lastest versions of iMovie aren't nearly as good at the one back around 2007. Much more limited but decent for something that comes on the OS (I've never used WMM, so I won't preach anything). -Stop basing how good an Apple computer is off the ones you use at school. If I did that I'd be basing my opinion on Windows off of all the pieces of shit I had to repair in my repair class running XP that were running Pentium II processors at 512 MB of RAM. -Garageband is bad. The only music making program that Windows can hold over the Mac platform that I am aware of at this very second is FL Studio. Even then, both platforms have Renoise, Mac has Logic Pro, both have Max/MSP, I'm sure both have Ableton (and Live), Both have Cubase, and both have Reason. Really though, don't buy a Mac for Garageband as it is incredibly inflexible. -Complaining about the price is pretty dumb. Yes, it is expensive. So are a lot of computers though, so why not just bash anything that's overpriced? The thing with Apple and Macs is that the software is generally written to coincide with the hardware. Not that I'm advocating high price, I'm just saying it's like they have their own mini-monopoly amongst their products (not that I mind, otherwise I wouldn't use them). -Jokes about games get really old. Did you ever consider that not everyone uses their computer to play games all the time? I probably don't fit in around here what with being a consolefag though, so I can't wait to have someone bash me for that too... If they start to garner support from such outlets as Steam, perhaps they'll get some momentum going and get more support from other developers. It has to start somewhere, doesn't it? Steam will help that immensely, if I do say. I plan to get Steam for Mac eventually so I can play some Audiosurf. -Open source is something that's really nice to have. It's also a reason I like to use Ubuntu as well. -The general interface on Apple computers is something I very much like. "Spaces" is something I've grown entirely accustomed too as is the use of the "Exposé." It makes managing what I'm doing much easier as well as easier to segregate each program. Complaining about the keyboard for its slight differences is pretty useless considering I could do the same, it's just that I'm in the minority and would be heavily ridiculed for stating that I don't like using the control key over the command key. -Stop blaming the "short comings of Mac" on user error. I really have very little sympathy for anyone that is too lazy to quickly open up a tab in Google and type "How do I ____ on Mac?" You either learn by self exploration around your settings or you can just look it up on one of the many user help functions supplied by the OS or use the vast knowledge of the internet. That's exactly how I looked up the command for screen-capping as well as many others. This goes back to the right click thing, had the user just gone to "System Preferences," and clicked either "Mouse" or "Trackpad" depending on their need, they could have fixed their right-click woes. Using different platforms will obviously yield differences in where things are and how things work. With all that said, carry on. I'm acquainted with Mac OS 9 through OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), as well as MS-DOS through XP with some slight tinkerings with Unbuntu on the side. So I'd appreciate not being blown off as a Mac fanboy or rated dumb because you don't agree with my standards for learning how to judge something that you apply to your own platform for someone like me.
nice of you Macs to catch up almost 10 years later. [editline]04:12PM[/editline]
haha, 8 core Pentium... and that chart is inaccurate, Mac Pros are upgradeable
I got both, but I am using PC most of the time.
-snip- [editline]11:47PM[/editline]
I got both, but I am using PC most of the time.
same here. I own a Mac and a PC, except I'm on my MacBook more.
Both. They both have their ups and downs.
Where's the I don't care as long as it has internet and common applications (eg:Word, MSN) option? [editline]05:23PM[/editline]
To right click on a mac: [Ctrl] + Mouse click Edit: Macs are annoying me. I use them all day at school and I have to (Apple)+Z to undo.. etc and it's in place of the Alt key. So when I get home and try using a computer, I do Alt+Z and the I realize I'm not using a mac.
You can also go to system preferences. Then to the mouse section and turn right click on. Then it works just like a normal mouse.
I like 'em both equally. I'm on Mac when I just want to browse, or watch movies or something. And I play on Windows/a PC.
Crazy Mac haters inbound!!
cool, Apple got free money from those guys... nothing wrong with the "bad guys" getting free money.
I have never understood why people say Macs are better for video/audio editing and what not. They run the same fucking programs. There is no difference other than the hardware. I would admit that Mac OS is more stable because the hardware is built for the OS. Windows runs on almost anything therefore it may get problems (Macs get problems too). Any way. I prefer PC because almost everything is developed for it, it is a fuck load cheaper, I can tinker with my hardware and make upgrades when I want, games etc. I don't really see the point in Macs existing other than the fact that they look stylish from a designers point of view.
ITT: OP is a retard. Mac for me. I use windows regularly tough, but only for games. [editline]11:41AM[/editline] The ignorance and stupidity in this thread is overwhelming.
not on the mac I had.
it looks like a single button But it's two. It works JUST like a normal mouse. It is a normal mouse. It has two buttons.
Apple = fruit
Apple = fruit
Microsoft= small and soft...
PC of course
Solaris OS
In other words... a reskin of Windows XP?
I kind of want both. The Mac is good for editing stuff like photos and videos, but a PC is ideal for gaming. But I guess since I don't have a mac, I'll go with PC. If anything I would have both just to keep everything tidy. Important stuff and games on a PC and then have a Macbook I can carry around for other stuff like videos, music, n' whatnot. But I know close to nothing about computers, so, :razz:

that one on the right isn't nearly as cluttered as my pc, yet I still know where every chord goes just by looking at it.

You mean that being messier makes you straight? There are macs just as messy as that windows, and there are windows that somehow can be that organized as that mac
I find macs more useful for working But I'm a gamer at heart so PC
nice of you Macs to catch up almost 10 years later. [editline]04:12PM[/editline]
8 core pentiums wtf
I use pc, it's ideal for editing videos and photos, making 3d, coding, watching media and gaming. Why would I want a mac?
I use pc, it's ideal for editing videos and photos, making 3d, coding, watching media and gaming. Why would I want a mac?
Garage Band?

I take the left one because I can sell it for more than the shitty dell.
Garage Band?
No, windows has enough alternatives. And if you NEED to use garageband and can't learn anything from win's apps, then you're a bit retarded. Why would I pay much more just to use a lousy music editor? Unless I'm rich and possibly dumb [editline]10:40PM[/editline]
I take the left one because I can sell it for more than the shitty dell.
And buy a great pc :v:
Yes, make a "Mac vs PC" thread on a gamers forum. Smart.

the one on the right looks like a cluttered mess, if being neat and clean makes me gay then ok. and I know I'm not gay. also Apple > Dell
