I'm probably just not gonna go. It's hosted by the anime club and most of them are who you'd expect to find in an anime club, which are people I don't associate with for the most part.
Our school has a phone basket now, and people are forced to put their phones there. I usually need it in case of emergency, but god damn I've heard people lost their phones with these. What's the point if it usually leads to someone losing their expensive as fuck phone, and the fact we're forced is worse.

Stick it in your shoe and keep it on vibrate for emergencies, Also that is illegal in most places to take someones stuff without a legit reason.

Just say you don't have a phone. What are they gonna do, search you? That's what I did whenever I had an exam. I took the battery out and kept it with me.
I swear though, if he ever lays a finger on crack I WILL beat some fucking sense into him. Weed is bad enough because it slowly kills off your braincells and wont fuck you up TOO bad, but crack.. FFS, 1 time on crack can get you addicted, killed, or just completely fucked up.
Or the 4th thing.....nothing? I know people who have done crack once (one of them did twice because the second time was an accident) and they are fine, you would think it would do something bad the first time but once you know people who deal with this stuff you get to actually know what happens. Not saying it's ok for him to do crack but don't overreact, that will get you nowhere in every situation.
It's like all those people who say that once you have a cigarette once you are addicted immediately or if you have them for awhile you get addicted while I know people who have smoked for years and aren't addicted, it all depends on how much you do it and how you are really. Knowing drug dealers is really awesome when you want to know about a drug, though I was asked if I wanted to sell cocaine at my school once, not a job I would like on a resume :v:

I never minded him because whatever it's some random guy, what's there to rage about, then someone in LMAO pics posted his Walking Dead playthrough and I recognized he looked exactly like Ben while playing it..... now I'm thinking about tracking him down and killing him (as you can see I love Ben).
After going through 4 years of high school, I can truthfully state the following:
I learned more useful information on the internet than I ever did in school, whether it be through English, math, history or science. 90% of the shit I had to learn in school went in one ear and out the other. Not because it was wasn't right or anything, but I knew that I would never use the information in my life again.
Seriously, think of the shit you learned in math in high school. It was 80% filler. Stuff you learned in middle school and your freshman year already. The other 20% of it was stuff like trigonometry.
Now ask yourself this: when was the last time you used that in a real life situation? What's that? Never? Alright, let's say that you aspire to learn more into it for a job in the future. That's completely fine, but I don't think it should be MANDATORY like sex education or anything. And even after you teach teenagers about contraception, there's still going to be the fucking dumbasses that aren't going to use it.
As much as English SHOULD be mandatory, I think that they should cover more topics. Again, think back to your high school English classes. Did they seem much different than your elementary and middle school English classes? Where'd the progression go? You've already been taught pretty much all the basics of the English language by the time grade 8 is out. The only thing that truly changed in high school was the length of the novels you had to study, and for a lot of students, this is more frustrating than it is educational, especially if you're assigned a novel that you don't find very interesting.
As much as I hate to say it, even Film & Video is kind of useless, but when you really think about it, it's as "useful" as the other classes are anyway. I kind of think of it as a very specific history class.
Speaking of history class, that's another one that didn't make much sense to me. I mean, I see the importance of knowing milestone events in human history, but should it really be made MANDATORY in the curriculum? This is more of a personal opinion, but I think it should be more of an elective course.
Anyway, time to wrap things up. If you really think about it, the most useful class you take in high school is Core French, and even then, some people don't even end up leaving Nova Scotia by the end of their lives, let alone visiting a strictly french-speaking community.
90% of the time you spend in high school is wasted. You might learn a thing or two when you go, but in the end, why are you going? To become smarter? Probably not. You're there to get an education because it's what's expected of you. If you want to become anyone in this world, you have to put up with 40 solid months of mostly filler. 40 months is a long span of time to have it be ultimately wasted. Everything useful that you learn in high school could be taught over the course of a month or two, much like driver's ed.
TL;DR High school is a fucking joke.
The only useful classes I took were electives and Algebra. Instead of taking English 12 senior year, I took Business Communications. Best deal ever. Fulfilled my English 12 credit, 6 business credits that transferred to college (minoring in business), no Senior thesis, and we learned useful stuff like proper ways to write memos and how to make a resumé that wasn't shit. Algebra helped because since I payed attention, I did well on the math placement test before college and have to take no math throughout all of college. I graduated high school with 18 college credits due to taking electives, and I'll most likely graduate a semester early.
The fact that I will never experience Warcraft for the first time again, I miss the days of being a noob.
:(
I have a research paper for my psychology class due tomorrow and for the life of me I can't seem to write anything about the given topic
I wish my high school had a psychology course
Computer class.
Bitch, I already know how to write in Microsoft Word and open Paint.
Also, the fact that they still use 2000 and XP.

The same can be said for 8th grade. 8th grade seems like a review of 6th and 7th grade for me. We are learning percents in math currently. Percents. We learned this last year and we learned a bit of it in 6th grade. We even had to learn fractions, a couple lessons ago, too. I think the only thing I learned in math currently is geometry and scientific notation. And English class, as always, is easy. It's easy for me, and I am going into an accelerated class for it next year. My teacher for english is the fucking best, though, so I learn a lot.
Science is fun, as per norm. Everyone loves science in grade school and middle school. Right now we are learning motion, aka speed, acceleration, velocity, and momentum. We watched Bill Nye the science guy today for momentum, speaking of which. I am currently working on a project for inertia where you build a car that can hold ten pennies without them flying around when the car hits a cinderblock after the ramp.
Then there is geography. Geography is alright, some of it is hit and miss for me. For example, remember when I mentioned my project for Alaska? I'm probably going to get an F or a D. I was lucky last time with my geographical book, I got a C.
I wish there was a class or elective in my school where it's like architecture, you get to play with Lego, Kinex, play Minecraft, etc to make a different kind of city each month or two with your group. I would be very interested in that, but sadly this is my final year at this school, and if it was ever to be implemented, i would be in high school by then

holy shit i had to go through this too
Before I went to my middle school, they would give you an option to pick your electives for you to have when you start it. There was computer class, so I said "what the hell, I'll do it" and signed up for it. Oh boy was I wrong. I expected the class to go through AutoCAD/3ds max/blender/some kind of programming or whatever. Oh, it was not. It was just typing. Literally. All we did was practice our typing. I did it for a full semester and that one semester fucked up my typing. And this was two years ago, mind you. Basically, the class was a complete rip off from what I thought it actually was and left me in a huge disappointment.
Anyone have any experiencing with overcoming horrible procrastination?
Last year I got an E in my English coursework as I kept delaying and lying to my teachers (corrupting files and the like), I stopped turning up to lesson until they got sick of my shit and contacted my family. Even then, I still had time to finish, but never did. I also never revised for any of my exams (although I somehow got an A in my English).
I've stayed up the past three nights intending on doing coursework and writing a presentation, yet after around 5 minutes I find a reason to give up. I acknowledge that it's a waste of time doing anything else, yet still do it. I'm actually retaking two of my subjects so I can get decent grades for University, I was supposed to have become productive and got a job by now. There have been some hitches, like being diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease for example (which has been the excuse for me not turning up to lessons for the past three weeks, despite it not being much of a bother recently) but this shouldn't stop me from some doing some basic work. This post actually contains more than what I've wrote for my English work for the past 3 weeks.
So if anyone has been through something similar, some advice would be most appreciated. I'm an 18 year old guy, I really shouldn't be like this. Going to confess to my two English teachers tomorrow so they can help, but I imagine they're getting sick of my shit.
tl;dr: I procrastinate way too much, despite acknowledging it's a problem and it having negatively impacted me, yet I do fuck all
When a Youtube somehow buffers itself a second time.
How schoolwork tends to waste my time while I do other personal projects during the weekdays.

I did the exact same a couple of years ago, when it came down to "This is literally the last chance you have to do this work" I put together a shitty timetable that was like "Here you work for a 3 hour period you cannot leave the laptop in this time!!"
Literally the worst week of my life working like a machine getting all this coursework done but I genuinely believe that fucking shitty timetable really helped keep me focused and stopped me brushing the work off (I despised it though)
Also I temporarily broke steam to stop people talking to me which I guess helped too.
Speaking of school, I've always thought a lot of time is going to waste. What's the point of spending time on something you'll only ever use inside school? Having to learn spanish/german/french is fucking bullshit, and It's like the board of education just needed to add some more subjects...A huge waste of time.
[editline]28th November 2012[/editline]
My main language (Danish) and english are the only two languages I'll ever need.
I even went to germany once and spoke english, and was fine. So yeah, pointless as fuck.

Bring a dakimakura or put on some cosplay. :v:
ugh. I took off the side of my computer to take a non-functional fan out to let more air through. But by the time I took it off I decided against it because it would require me to take everything apart to get to it. Now it wont start up. Keep in mind that I never touched anything.

Eh?
How did you not touch the fan inside the case? Or the screws holding the fan?
Did you check for any loose wires? Is the power on? :v: Are you sure you discharged the static electricity before touching anything just to be sure?
Can't listen to music in classes because apparently music being directly fed into my ear is quieter than two vapid whores talking.

No, it's not.
You have to be really goddamn thick to think you can just re-invent the definition of a word like that. Especially with its charged history.

I meant I never touched anything inside the computer. I took the side off and took a look at the fan. I saw it was cooped up behind everything so I decided not to move it. I discharged my static before touching anything, there were no loose wires, and of course I turned it on when I tested it.
Trust me, I'm just as confused as you.

Oh, I misread it as you took the case off, then took the fan off then put it back it.
What I'd probably do is take it all apart, do whatever you need to do with the fan and put everything back in. You might have knocked something loose when you opened the case, reseating everything might help.
