Found another issue with the new Youtube layout. Again. Did they even quality test it? New comments and your comments pop up in the 'Top Comments' section. [editline]7th December 2012[/editline] Also, saw BSG: Blood and Chrome. Wish it was longer. Episodes too short and they had to skip things. :( Everything just went way too fast.

Please don't shit all over me for this, but I actually like the new layout. I didn't even notice the left/centering problem that everyone else is complaining about because I keep my browser window at a relatively narrow resolution. I like the cleanness and minimalism. Sure, there are some issues with it, but since when have there not been minor problems with a major web application? I feel like a lot of the issues people are finding are the result of confirmation bias, where people are finding problems and getting upset about them [I]because[/I] they are trying to find the problems. Some of the issues existed in previous iterations of the YouTube design and are only being brought to attention now. It's not like Google arbitrarily made these changes to the design. It's not like they have a team of 3 or 4 people just fucking around with the layout to fuck with people for shits and giggles. No, Google is one of the best UX companies on the planet. They are constantly A/B testing. Why did some people get the new layout early? Because Google was testing it. And they wouldn't have pushed it out to the rest of the users if it was truly as awful as some parts of the internet are saying it is. Problems that exist now should be resolved quickly. That's the way Google works. There was extreme backlash last time YouTube was changed, and backlash every single time before that. But if YouTube didn't update its look, it would be stuck with an outdated design that looks unprofessional and old. I find it almost funny that as much as people bitch about how bad the current design is, a few months down the road when Google improves the design again, you'll all be bitching just as hard, if not harder. Some of you may say it's because YouTube is getting worse with each iteration, but is that really true? And finally, it's possible that these changes are not necessarily made for [I]your[/I] benefit. As a more tech-savvy user than the average netizen, you like to exercise more control over your content, and customize it to your liking. The fact that custom userscripts to "fix" the design of the new YouTube have already been released and are already in use are a testament to this. The average user wants videos to be recommended to them, not just see their subscriptions. Maybe they don't want to see video suggestions in one place or another. Maybe they don't like clutter around the screen. Maybe some of the features weren't used by a majority of users. Again, Google is one of the market leaders in A/B testing. They don't arbitrarily remove highly used features. Guess what? You're good at the internet. You're special. But not everyone else is, and I would argue that the vast majority of other internet users are not. So I'm sorry, but you're going to have to deal with that. And some people, including myself, do like the new layout.

New layout is okay but having the video box and ad over to the left instead of in the middle is a decision I just cannot fathom. It makes watching videos uncomfortable.

The new Youtube layout also broke a bunch kf Youtube related extentions I had installed.

It's usually used to show an upset/depressed/annnoyed tone of voice, or something along those lines. People who use it all the time however, yes, that annoys me...
